2. WHAT IS A CMS?
• As Content Management Systems (Content Management System) are any
form of software which is used to automate all processes related to the
content of an application.
• Such processes are the creation, organization, control and publication of
content in different formats. Some content formats usually use CMS to
manage it is text, images, video, java animation, design templates,
databases and more.
3. CHARACTERISTICS OF A CMS
• Easy management through a browser.
• Separation of content and appearance.
• Different roles and levels for users.
• Publishable by users upon approval.
• Ability to categorize the content to be easier to manage
4. ADVANTAGES
• Allows its quality control by many people.
• It is an important educational tool or a tool for acquiring programming
experience.
• The cost of free software or open source software is significantly less than
the cost of commercial solutions.
• The support in case of problems can come directly, using the
communication channels of the Internet (eg newsgroups).
• The use of free software or open source software does not create
dependencies.
• Can be checked for reliability.
5. Disadvantages
• It does not provide stable solutions.
• The provided documentation is usually small.
• The support is made by the same development community.
• You need to spend several versions of the software to mature and
stabilize.
• Not controlled development.
6. BLOGGER
The blogger is a free open source CMS (open source content management platform)
which is mainly used as a blog publishing application using PHP and MySQL. Has
thousands of plugins and a template change system with the support of google.
• Personal - small blogs and with appropriate plugins is a good solution for medium
sized portals or blogs.
• Minor discussion forums.
• Corporate websites with little need
Not recommended for:
• Big portals or blogs
• Large forums
• Corporate websites with moderate or high needs
7. BLOGVs WEBSITE
• The site is quite difficult to manufacture and requires knowledge.The
management of the server is also quite difficult.
• The SEO (search engine optimization) is limited.
• The blog is not suitable for large enterprises and is a means of expressing opinion
or a creative platform.
• The blog is ideal for those who have limited budget.
• The site is an interactive medium without restrictions with the disadvantage of
difficult handling and cost.
