2. Equipment list
• In order to complete our A2 production to the best standard, we must use a wide variety
of equipment as this would help make our production look professional. We will use the
equipment mentioned in the further slides throughout the course in order to achieve a
good grade.
3. Hardware List
• This is all the equipment that we used that comes under the ‘tools and machine
equipment’ for our production. The images and description of the hardware we used will
be on the following slides.
4. External rode microphone
• The external rode microphone is going to be used to obtain the diegetic sound within our
production and to ensure that the quality of the sound is at a very high standard. It would
also come to help if we need to film a voiceover for a scene.
5. Canon 700D
• This is the camera that we are going to film our production with. The camera is going to
be great for filming as it films in high quality and is easy to use. The camera provides
many features, such as auto-focus which allows us to focus on certain objects in a shot to
add emphasis to it. Having used the same camera last year for my AS production, I will
find it quite easy to use for the second time.
6. Camera Bag
• This bag is going to be used to carry the camera and its accessories, such as the batteries
and its charger. The bag is lightweight and functional as it has padding to keep the
camera safe, which means that we are able to carry the camera around in the safest way
possible.
7. Batteries
• The batteries are going to be used for the camera and other appliances such as the light.
We have to use many batteries throughout our filming sessions because it would take
quite long for us to complete what we need to in the time we have.
8. SD card
• This is going to be used to store all of our footage from filming. This is beneficial as we
are going to be able to transfer it from the camera to the iMac with ease. The editor also
needs to use the card to edit the footage on the MacBook pro.
9. Tripod
• This functional purpose it to provide the camera with stability when filming. When the
camera is not handheld, it would most likely be put on the tripod as certain shots require
it, such as the ones with movement (pan/tilt).
10. MacBook Pro
• This is mainly going to be used by the editor in order to edit the footage we had given her.
This piece of hardware is beneficial as it is lightweight and available to use in other
locations other than in the media classroom.
11. iMac
• This desktop is the main hardware we are going to use to complete and upload our work
with as it was supplied to us by our media teachers in the class. This is where we are
going to store most of our raw footage and edit on as it has large amounts of space and
the system will also be much easier to use than a regular computer due to the advanced
software and simplicity.
12. USB
• We are going to use this in order to store our paperwork and transfer it to other
computers efficiently. It is a portable lightweight device that allows us to carry it around
easily and use it on any computer we want.
13. Phones
• We will be using iPhones within our production team to allow us to communicate with
each other as well as our actors. This is an efficient way to communicate because then we
would be able to make sure everything is good for the next filming sessions before hand.
I will also be using my phone in particular to take images for one of my tasks (Reece
picture), which shows that it is not only useful for communicating with each other.
14. Printer
• We will be using the printer to print out some things that would help us with our
production. This includes the script for our actors, still images to see exactly how we are
going to film our next scene, and also our production schedule which helps us to stay
organized.
15. Software List
• This is the programs that we used in order to complete our coursework on the computer.
The images and description of the software we used will be on the following slides.
16. Blogger
• This site is going to be the most frequent one we will be using because it was the easiest
platform to use for uploading our work on. Since, this was the main platform we used for
our AS production, we felt more comfortable with using it again.
17. Prezi
• This is another software that we will be using in our group to present our coursework
through because it was different and quite easy to use. It is an alternative to PowerPoint
and it also provides a lot more themes and styles to choose from. This allowed for there
to be variation in our paperwork.
18. Slide share
• This will be used in conjunction with PowerPoint to upload our presentations as it would
provide a different layout from it, which would show variety within the paperwork we
do.
19. Microsoft office
• We will use Word and PowerPoint to complete some of our paperwork for our
coursework. This will be easy to use and publish as we had done it for our AS production
last year, which means we will spend less time figuring out what software we would use
for our paperwork.
20. Scribd
• This is a bit similar to slide share, as it is used to upload our work from a different
document to an embedded code, which allows us to post our work onto blogger in a
professional way. We had used the same software last year to upload our work and that’s
why we will be using it again this year because of the simplicity of the site.
21. YouTube
• We will be using this website to upload our final production and some may upload their
paperwork to this as well. This was easy to do as we were all familiar with the site and it
also allowed us to promote to our specific target audience using features such as
annotations and category selection.
22. Final cut pro
• The editor in our group will be using this software to edit all the footage we had into a
well produced film. The editor has used the same software last year for our production
and so will be using it again this year to be comfortable in editing our footage. This was
also one of the main software pieces that was given to us by default with the iMac’s, so it
made sense that we utilise a great software like this to the best of our ability.
23. Photoshop
• We will be using Photoshop in our work for tasks such as creating the group logo,
completing the ancillary tasks of…. We will be using Photoshop as it was the easiest
editing software out of the majority and it is very simple.
24. Excel
• This will be used by members of my group to create graphs from the data we had
collected from the questionnaires that we had carried out. It allows us to create quick
graphs with ease. We were also provided with a variety of graphs to choose from to
maintain a variation in our work.
25. Social media
• Facebook will be used to promote our production as it is a popular social media site that
would allow us to connect with our audiences well.
• We will use Twitter as well to promote our production and to keep in contact with our
followers. We would tweet whenever we had important updates, which keeps everyone
updated.
26. Photo bucket
• This will be used to present photo’s that we had collected for tasks such as ‘Reece
pictures’ in a professional way as it would present the photos in a continuous loop with a
description attached to it allowing for there to be a continuous PowerPoint, which would
be much better than uploading lots of pictures onto blogger without any description.
