 The secondary property market in the country has good potential as the prices of the houses could be 30-40
per cent lower than the new ones, said the Malaysia Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA).Its president, Siva
Shanker, said many people were unaware of the hidden ‘gems’ in the secondary property market.The buyers
should should explore them instead of complaining and whining about the escalating prices of new houses,
he said.“The data have proven that property prices in the secondary market are very much similar to those in
the primary market and if comparisons are made in terms of location and size, they are much cheaper and
affordable.
 RHB Research remains “neutral” on the telecommunications sector, as most of the upside has been priced in
and valuations look fair.The research house said cellular telecommunications companies are expected to
brace more headwinds next year in light of the heightened competition and the continued decline in legacy
revenues.
 Mulpha International Bhd is buying a total of 4.401ha in Australia for A$120 million (RM340.8 million).The
land is located in Norwest Marketown and Norwest Boulevard, Baulkham Hills in New South Wales.Mulpha
said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesteday that its wholly-owned Norwest City Pty Ltd had entered into a
contract with Norwest Marketown Pty Ltd for the acquisition.
 Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd maintained its income distribution of 6.45 sen for Amanah Saham Nasional
(ASN) for the financial year ending December 31, 2014.Permodalan Nasional Bhd chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji
Abdul Hamid said the income distribution involved a total payout of RM107.5 million, an increase of 7.28 per
cent from the RM100.2 million paid last year, to a total of 1.26 million unitholders.
 Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) has awarded French engineering giant Alstom a €40 million turnkey contract to
reconstruct the 275 kV Tudan substation in Sarawak.In a statement, Alstom said the project, to be completed
in phases over 41 months, will strengthen the Sarawak Grid for reliable electricity supply to the people in
Miri, the second largest city in Sarawak, as well as industries in and around the northern region in Sarawak.
 MMC Corp Bhd has awarded a RM470 million sewage treatment contract to a proposed consortium
comprising Salcon Bhd and Loh & Loh Constructions Sdn Bhd.Salcon, in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday,
said the contract involved construction and maintenance of the facility within the Sungai Langat area in
Selangor.A joint venture called Salcon Loh & Loh JV Sdn Bhd will be set up to undertake the project on a 50:50
basis, Salcon added.The 70-month project started yesterday and is due for completion on October 19 2020.
