MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION
RHB Research is upbeat on Sunway Bhd’s continuous effort in unlocking its asset values."Sunway announced
its proposed disposal of Sunway Hotel Georgetown (RM74 million) and Wisma Sunway (RM60 million), worth
a combined value of RM134 million, to Sunway REIT."The four-star hotel has 250 rooms, the office has an net
letatble area (NLA) of 172,000 square feet. The disposal will likely be completed in late Q2 2015.
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is likely to have minimal impact on the renovation construction sector
during the initial phase of implementation of the new tax system from April 1, next year. Construction
Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Dr Judin Abdul Karim said the
impact of any price hike on building materials would also depend on whether it is locally made or imported.
Wah Seong Corp Bhd, via its indirect subsidiary P.M.T.I Energy (Cambodia) Co Ltd (PMTIEC), is venturing into a
biomass power plant project in Cambodia by supplying electric energy to Baitang (Kampuchea) Plc for 20
years. PMTIEC has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Baitang to sell up to 3.5MW per hour of
electricity generated to Baitaing for 20 years from the first day of the completion of Initial Capacity Test.
IJM Corp Bhd will dispose of 100 per cent of its stake in the Jaipur-Mahua Tollway Private Ltd (JMTPL) to ISQ
Asia Infrastructure I-A Private Limited for RM295 million. The estimated gain from the disposal is
approximately RM188 million. “The disposal will be initially for 74 per cent of the equity and the balance 26
per cent shall be disposed off upon obtaining the approval from the National Highways Authority of India...
within a period of two years from the completion of the disposal of 74 per cent of the equity.
Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s decision to appoint Christoph Mueller as chief executive officer (CEO) of Malaysia
Airlines new company (MAS NewCo) is in line with the 12-point MAS Recovery Plan, which includes a global
search for the best candidate to revamp the airline.
MAYBANK Investment Bank (Maybank IB) says there is still value in Bumi Armada Bhd shares despite the
surprise move by Hassan Assad Basma, who is relinquishing his position as chief executive officer (CEO) and
executive director of the companyChan Chee Beng will act as an interim CEO/director as Bumi Armada
searches for a suitable candidate to replace Hassan.
