Business Problem Project Impact and Outcomes
• The client was planning a new product launch of a smart terminal
device for its small-midsize merchant segment and lacked critical
market and business insights to ensure a successful launch.
• The product team required deep market insights to validate and
refine elements of product features, customer value proposition,
pricing and overall go-to-market strategy for its smart terminal
product offering in the small-midsize merchant segment.
• Gaps in understanding of merchant experience with competitors’
solutions, current and future pricing tolerance, and other key
drivers of adoption for smart terminal solutions specific to SMB
and selected industry verticals/categories.
• ePay performed a high-touch market landscape assessment of
smart terminal providers and voice of customer to address gaps
and inform the launch planning and go-to-market strategy:
- A go-to-market planning included workstreams spanning
product sets and features, pricing, sales and distribution
including identifying strategic partner options, etc.
- Research on both voice-of-the-customer and the competitive
landscape that informed prioritization of features, refined
pricing, and validated future releases of the solution
- Examples of merchant use cases for specific devices and
product features
- A “socialization campaign” accompanied this effort to ensure
