Early surgical treatment using lipid-kolloid technology dressings containing silver ions and primary autografts without perforation on the back of the hand was performed on 157 burn patients aged 5 months to 59 years with dermal burns of the limbs. Necrotic tissue was removed through dermabrasion and necrectomy 2-7 days after injury. Wound surfaces were then covered with silver-containing lipid-kolloid or hydrofiber dressings depending on exudation and location. This approach reduced hospitalization time by 2.1 times compared to traditional methods and decreased pain during dressing changes and number of dressings needed from 6-9 to 1-2.
