Enoxaparin is an anticoagulant medication from the class of low molecular weight heparins. It works by binding to antithrombin III to inhibit coagulation factors Xa and IIa, preventing fibrin clot formation. Enoxaparin has indications for treatment of conditions like unstable angina, DVT prophylaxis, and treatment of DVT. It comes with risks of bleeding and should be used cautiously in patients with bleeding risks or heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. Enoxaparin is administered via subcutaneous or intravenous routes.
