This document outlines the structure and objectives of a course on discussing movies in English. The course will cover different movie genres and themes. Students will practice talking and writing about movies, improve language skills, and explore culture through film. Assessment includes midterm and final exams consisting of short answer questions, quizzes on vocabulary, and homework such as worksheets, writing assignments, and group projects. After the first 6 classes, students will be given a list
of short answer questions and vocabulary
words/expressions
 These questions will come directly from class
discussion, homework, and daily writing and
speaking assignments.
 For the Midterm, the instructor will select
questions/vocabulary from the list.
 Students will provide written answers to the questions
in class, without the use of notes.
 Answers will be graded on:




accuracy of answers
ability to express ideas
use of vocabulary and important expressions

11. Final Exam





After the last 6/7 classes, students will be given a list of short
answer questions.
These questions will come directly from class discussion,
homework, and daily writing and speaking assignments.
For the Final Exam, the instructor will select 3 or 4 questions
from the list.
Students will meet with the instructor for a 1-on-1 oral interview.
The instructor will examine the student’s understanding of the
ideas and themes discussed in class using these short answer
questions.
Students will be graded on:


their ability to express their ideas
how well they understand the ideas and themes discussed
throughout this course

 These quizzes will focus on:

 Vocabulary,
expressions, and definitions
from movies, discussion, homework, etc.
