We have a vacancy for an Engineering Team Leader, to provide both technical support and team
leadership guiding production to best practice methods incorporating 5S methodology.
This position is based at Glasgow and will report to the Production Manager.
If you’re
 NVQ Level 2 qualified or higher in an Engineering field
 Have knowledge of MRP systems
 Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
 Come from a hands on engineering background
Salary level is to £26.5k depending on experience
Responsibilities:
 Prepare for the daily production meetings and set the scene for the day with the team
 Lead by example and stretch the team to better targets, taking into account health and
safety
 Ensure the team are continuously motivated to carry out their duties ensuring that all
quality standards are met and maintained
 Using the stage and team boards to communicate daily information and ensure the stage
disciplines are sustained, escalating any arising issues not able to deal with appropriately at
team leader level
 Supporting all quality processes and instructions, ensuring the members of the team meet or
exceed expectations
 Ensure all tasks and jobs are finished to the desired standard
 Create and drive a Zero Defect Culture, holding meetings with the team, quality department
and other functions as required, liaising with other functions to improve on quality issues
 Help and support site strategic plans and supporting the culture changes within operations
 Liaise and advise with other departments as required on issues with parts, build, quality,
safety, and uses the stage boards to capture and communicate issues to the team
 Ensure that tooling is returned after every shift and stored in the appropriate cage or board
 Ensure 5S philosophy is understood and sustained and that all units are clean and tidy on
stage handover
 Ensure all documentation is completed and signed off before the unit moves to the next
stage in the assembly or test processes
 Check that the team are following the documented instructions and build specifications

2.  Support the Production Manager in balancing the flow line proactively
 Ensure that all build hours are booked onto the system in a timely and accurately manner
