An opportunity for an experienced Technical Author to join a small dedicated team tasked with the
production of Rolling Stock Maintenance documentation.
Ideally the successful candidate will have the following attributes:
• A relevant Engineering qualification e.g. apprenticeship, ONC/ HNC etc
• Advanced user of MS Word
• Good communication skills to compile Technical Manuals
• Good IT skills
• Rail/rolling stock experience or broadly similar engineering background i.e. Defence, Aviation,
Automotive
The Technical Author Vacancy will require you to:-
• Prepare and update maintenance manuals.
• Liaise with depot based maintenance teams.
• Communicate with engineers & customers regarding document specification & content.
• Edit content produced by other authors within the team.
• Review efficacy of any amendments to maintenance instructions.
N.B. This role is based in Derby and will require regular travel to depots such as Doncaster, Crewe,
Taunton; the client will provide all travel arrangements for site visits.
Duration: 6 months, Mon-Fri, Days, circa 40-45Hrs per week
