Fausto Veranzio (Faust Vrančić, 1551 - 1617) humanist, philosopher and Dalmatian historian, known for its Dictionarium Quinque Nobilissimarum Europae linguarum, Latinae, Italicae, Germanicae, Dalmaticae et Ungaricae (Venetiis, 1595) and Logica Nova (Venetiis, 1616) was, curiously, a forerunner of the Machine revolution, that will own the revolution of science and technical progress during the Industrial Revolution. Trained at the University of Padua also in mathematics, lover of science and the progress of mechanics and engineering, he publishes at the end of the sixteenth century a “visionary” treaty, where instead his visions will translate in actually built. His treatise on Machinae Novae (Venetiis, c. 1595 or 1616) is anticipating scientific and technological advances that will find fertile ground in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Veranzio design is not only imaginative illustration of a machine or a work of engineering, is rather precursor sign of a refined technology that will be developed in the following centuries. The suspension bridges imagined and designed by Veranzio are, for example, precognitions of an engineering that will be declined, with infinite facets of sign and design, with the introduction of cast iron, iron and steel in Architecture, almost two centuries after publication of his treatise. In this short note we will tell the traces, the visions and pre-visions of a Renaissance man who anticipates, with his ideas and his projects, the Iron architecture design and especially the suspension bridges.

It is known that Engineering is present in the entire productive sector, namely: in factories, in housing and infrastructure construction sites, in universities, in scientific laboratories, in technological research centers, in transport, in energy generation, in communications, in food production, among other undertakings. The great changes that have been taking place in people's lives, in the modern world, were generated by technology that is fed by accumulated knowledge and large investments in research and innovation. Humanity needs Engineering because it transforms the knowledge accumulated in universities and research centers, public and private, into products and services available to society.

THE CONTRIBUTION OF ENGINEERING TO SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS THRO...Faga1939
This article aims to demonstrate the great contribution of Engineering to the progress of science and technology throughout human history. Engineering and the Engineer have existed since the most remote times. It can be said that Engineering and Engineer have existed since the appearance of man on the face of the Earth. If we understand Engineering as the art of using technique to accomplish what the human imagination conceives, we will see that, as long as humanity exists, Engineering will be present. Engineering, understood as the art of making, consists of applying scientific and empirical knowledge to the creation of structures, processes and devices, which are used to convert natural resources into adequate forms to meet human needs.
A motel or motor lodge is a hotel designed for motorists and usually has a parking area for motor vehicles. Entering dictionaries after World War II, the word motel, coined as a portmanteau contraction of "motor hotel", originates from the Milestone Mo-Tel of San Luis Obispo, California (now called the Motel Inn of San Luis Obispo), which was built in 1925.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Engineering
1. Engineering
is the utilization of scientific principles to style and build machines,
structures, and other items, including bridges, tunnels, roads, vehicles,
and buildings. The discipline of engineering encompasses a broad range
of more specialized fields of engineering, each with a more specific
emphasis on particular areas of applied mathematics , engineering , and
sorts of application. See glossary of engineering.
The term engineering springs from the Latin ingenium, meaning
"cleverness" and ingeniare, meaning "to contrive, devise".
2. Definition
The American Engineers' Council for Professional Development (ECPD,
the predecessor of ABET) has defined "engineering" as:
The creative application of scientific principles to style or develop
structures, machines, apparatus, or manufacturing processes, or works
utilizing them singly or in combination; or to construct or operate the
same with full cognizance of their design; or to forecast their behavior
under specific operating conditions; all as respects an intended
function, economics of operation and safety to life and property.
AddressBazar.com is an Bangladeshi Online Yellow Page. From here you
will find important and necessary information of various Engineering
Consultant related organizations in Bangladesh.
History
Engineering has existed since the past , when humans devised
inventions just like the wedge, lever, wheel and pulley, etc.
The term engineering springs from the word engineer, which itself
dates back to the 14th century when an engineer (literally, one who
builds or operates a siege engine) mentioned "a constructor of military
engines.” During this context, now obsolete, an "engine" mentioned a
military , i.e., a mechanical contraption utilized in war (for example, a
catapult). Notable samples of the obsolete usage which have survived to
3. the present day are the military engineering corps, e.g., the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers.
The word "engine" itself is of even older origin, ultimately deriving from
the Latin ingenium (c. 1250), meaning "innate quality, especially mental
power, hence a clever invention.”
Later, because the planning of civilian structures, like bridges and
buildings, matured as a technical discipline, the term engineering
entered the lexicon as the way to differentiate between those
specializing within the development of such non-military projects and
other people involved within the discipline of military engineering.
4. Ancient era
The pyramids in ancient Egypt, ziggurats of Mesopotamia, the Acropolis
and Parthenon in Greece, the Roman aqueducts, Via Appia and
Colosseum, Teotihuacán, and thus the Brihadeeswarar Temple of
Thanjavur, among many others, stand as a testament to the ingenuity
and skill of ancient civil and military engineers. Other monuments, not
standing, just like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and thus the Pharos
of Alexandria, were important engineering achievements of their time
and were considered among the Seven Wonders of the normal World.
The six classical simple machines were known within the traditional
Middle East . The wedge and thus the machine (ramp) were known
since prehistoric times. The wheel, in conjunction with the wheel and
axle mechanism, was invented in Mesopotamia (modern Iraq) during
the 5th millennium BC. The lever mechanism first appeared around
5,000 years ago within the center East , where it had been utilized in a
simple balance scale, and to maneuver large objects in ancient Egyptian
technology. The lever was also utilized within the shadoof water-lifting
device, the first crane machine, which appeared in Mesopotamia circa
3000 BC, then in ancient Egyptian technology circa 2000 BC. The
earliest evidence of pulleys return to Mesopotamia within the first 2nd
millennium BC, and ancient Egypt during the Twelfth Dynasty
(1991-1802 BC). The screw, the last of the simple machines to be
invented, first appeared in Mesopotamia during the Neo-Assyrian
5. period (911-609) BC. The Egyptian pyramids were built using three of
the six simple machines, the machine , the wedge, and thus the lever, to
form structures a bit like the Pyramid of Giza.
The earliest engineer known by name is Imhotep. Together with the
officials of the Pharaoh, Djosèr, he probably designed and supervised
the event of the Pyramid of Djoser (the Step Pyramid) at Saqqara in
Egypt around 2630–2611 BC. The earliest practical water-powered
machines, the water wheel and watermill, first appeared within Persia ,
in what are now Iraq and Iran, by the primary 4th century BC.
Ancient Greece developed machines in both civilian and military
domains. The Antikythera mechanism, an early known mechanical
analog computer , and thus the mechanical inventions of Archimedes,
6. are samples of Greek engineering . variety of Archimedes' inventions
also because the Antikythera mechanism required sophisticated
knowledge of differential gearing or epicyclic gearing, two key
principles in machine theory that helped design the gear trains of the
economic Revolution, and are still widely used today in diverse fields
like robotics and automotive engineering .
Ancient Chinese, Greek, Roman and Hunnic armies employed military
machines and inventions like artillery which was developed by the
Greeks around the 4th century BC, the trireme, the ballista and thus the
catapult. within the center Ages, the trebuchet was developed.
Middle Ages
The earliest practical wind-powered machines, the windmill and wind
pump, first appeared within the Muslim world during the Islamic
Golden Age, in what are now Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, by the 9th
century AD. The earliest practical steam-powered machine was a steam
jack driven by a turbine , described in 1551 by Taqi al-Din Muhammad
ibn Ma'ruf in Ottoman Egypt.
The gin was invented in India by the 6th century AD, and thus the
textile machine was invented within the Islamic world by the primary
11th century, both of which were fundamental to the expansion of the
cotton industry. The textile machine was also a precursor to the textile
machine , which was a key development during the primary industrial
revolution within the 18th century. The crankshaft and camshaft were
7. invented by Al-Jazari in Northern Mesopotamia circa 1206, which they
later became central to modern machinery just like the heat engine ,
combustion engine and automatic controls.
The earliest programmable machines were developed within the
Muslim world. A music sequencer, a programmable instrument , was
the earliest kind of programmable machine. The first music sequencer
was an automatic flutist invented by the Banu Musa brothers, described
in their Book of Ingenious Devices, within the 9th century. In 1206,
Al-Jazari invented programmable automata/robots. He described four
automaton musicians, including drummers operated by a
programmable drum machine, where they could be made to play
different rhythms and different drum patterns. The castle clock, a
hydro powered mechanical astronomical clock invented by Al-Jazari,
