9. • Digital energy meters measure the Power(KW) and Energy (KWh) consumed
• It can also measure Voltage/Current/Phase Factor/Frequency/KVAR/KVARh of the
power source, depending on the model of themeter
• For energy management, the meter should have RS 485 communication port
• Using MODBUS communication protocol, all electrical meters can be monitored and a
report can be generated which can be used for Power optimization
• Cost of the energy meter varies from Rs 6K – 20K depending on the make and model
