SOS Children’s Villages of India
Ameesha was born with a foot deformity and brought to an SOS Children's Village in Delhi at only 6 hours old. Her SOS mother Kumudini was worried about Ameesha's health and ability to walk. Through medical guidance and regular treatment, Ameesha's foot developed properly and today she stands tall and wants to pursue a career in dance. SOS Children's Villages provide family-based care for orphaned and vulnerable children in India through villages and community programs.

Husti is a UK-based charity that funds projects in India to relieve poverty. In its first year from 2014-2015, it raised £6,210 through university societies, collection boxes in shops, online donations, community events, and corporate contributions. Students from a school that believes in service before self donated generously to help underprivileged senior citizens in their neighborhood. To teach children humility, empathy, and concern for others, the school joined with an NGO called Sarthak Prayas. As part of this philanthropic gesture, 19 students reached out to senior citizens and helped by providing one month's worth of ration supplies.
Poverty
The students at Alhassad International School in Amman, Jordan collaborated with a charity group in Sudan to address the problem of poverty. They collected money, clothes, and food from students and other contributors to help reduce poverty and plant happiness. Some challenges included high shipping costs to Sudan with a large amount of donations. The students were excited to participate in this humanitarian project and hope to continue their efforts to reduce issues in the world.

Their work is guided by principles of child development within caring family environments and empowering families and communities to support children's rights.

The Invisible Children Foundation was started in 2003 by three young filmmakers who were shocked by the child soldiers and night commuters they discovered in Northern Uganda. Their documentary "Invisible Children: Rough Cut" helped expose the crisis and build awareness. The Foundation now works to end Joseph Kony's rebel war, restore peace in Northern Uganda, rebuild schools, and provide economic opportunities for communities affected by the conflict.

Some of their efforts include rebuilding employee and community homes after Katrina; hosting field trips, mentoring programs, and donating equipment to local schools; providing holiday meals and gifts to families in need; assisting with relief efforts after disasters like tornadoes in Oklahoma and Alabama; and ongoing support of charities through donations and volunteer events. They also provided culinary job training to 9 graduates with disabilities, who completed over 810 hours of employment training. By the end of 2014, HUMANA People to People Belize was reaching out to more than 3,000 participating families through the Child Aid project. Child Aid is implemented in 35 communities in Toledo District and 12 communities in the districts of Orange Walk and Corozal.

Divac Foundation_2015 Overview
In 2015, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation provided housing solutions for 156 refugee families through new construction and social housing. They also distributed 247 economic and agricultural grants to start or expand local businesses. Additional projects in 2015 included refurbishing 8 schools and 22 flood-damaged homes, building 5 playgrounds and kindergarten classrooms, supporting 138 youth initiatives, and providing aid to 70,000 refugees from the Middle East. - 1. “ENDEGAGEF”SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME RCAAW EDGET BESIRA SCHOOL, ADDIS ABABA “Reducing immediate hunger among school children is within our reach.”
- 2. OBJECTIVE Ensure that today’s needy school children in urban Ethiopia get the basic minimum food he/she require to learn, grow and thrive to become a responsible citizen of tomorrow.
- 3. PROJECT INITIATORS It was reported over the media that hunger among school children was a big problem. This caught the attention of Rtn Askale Benti and Rtn Guenet Guebre-christos . Contact was established with two schools: Edget Besira in Tekle Haymanot, Berber Terra a very depressed slum area of Addis Ababa with 1900 plus students Addis Sira in Shiro meda another poor slum area with a population of 900 students.
- 4. PROJECT BEGINNINGS Given the magnitude of the problem and the resources available to the initiators of the project, it was decided to consider Edget Besira as A pilot project. The project started with private funding from Rotarians Askale and Guenet plus 10,000 birr from a donor in December 2011. The project started with 40 grade one students (selection was made on the basis of age) .
- 5. SPONSORSHIP In march 2012, the project was adopted by RCAAW. RCAAW made a donation of 50,000 birr and 20 additional children were added to the project . Subsequent to the adoption by RCAAW, a number of Rotarians and other donors made generous contribution bringing the number of children to 100.
- 6. CURRENT STANDING To date, we have over 51 sponsors 21 Rotarians 2 rotary clubs and 28 non Rotarians Have a promise from members of rotary club Entoto which will be matched by their club Have a pledge of 351,500 birr. 299,256 birr has been collected The outstanding pledge need to be collected 55,ooo birr has been dispersed last school year. The balance remaining in the account is 244,256.98 We need to raise about 200,000 birr to feed the 200 extremely need children for the coming school year 2012/2013.
