STEP 4: TRAINING • Define what mentoring means for the organization • Define leadership skills • Explain how to implement the role of mentor and mentee Use this time to reduce bias in your organization and eliminate the stereotypes and double-standards in order for your program to be successful
  • 25. STEP 5: MATCHING APPLICATION Be sure that your matching application addresses competencies that develop women leaders… • Who needs to develop these competencies? Mentees! • Who already possesses these competencies? Mentors! REMEMBER: Gender should not be a factor in matching
  • 26. STEP 6: REPORTING • How many partnerships were created? • What leadership competencies were improved? • What goals/objectives were completed? • How many individuals moved into leadership roles?
  • 27. RECAP When organizations don’t consider women for leadership roles, they are missing an opportunity to achieve success. Organizations that have placed women in leadership roles have seen an increase in return on equity, return on sales, and return on invested capital. Mentoring can help to increase gender diversity within your leadership team.
