This document discusses community-driven development (CDD) and how it can empower poor communities. It defines CDD as an approach that gives control of the development process directly to community groups. The key aspects of CDD include transparency, participation, local empowerment, and accountability. CDD seeks to identify and implement projects that communities feel they need most. It discusses three components of CDD - project implementation support, community development support, and a community driven investment program. The goal is to build community capacity and create social and economic infrastructure to improve livelihoods in a sustainable manner.

How can the spaces attract people from different backgrounds to feel more connected? How can the spaces help people develop & test activities that are rooted in the strengths & needs of neighbourhood? How can the spaces encourage organisations to collaborate around common causes and create social value for the neighbourhood?

Community service is work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. It is often done near the area where you live, so you own community reaps the benefits of your work. You do not get paid to perform community service, but volunteer your time. Community service can help many different groups of people: children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, even animals and environment. Community service is often organized through a local group, such as a place of worship, school, or non-profit organization, or you can start your own community service projects. Community service can even involve raising funds by donating used goods or selling used goods like clothing.

A FRAMEWORK FOR MOBILE VIDEO STREAMING AND VIDEO SHARING IN CLOUDJournal For Research
The transmission of data has grown over years in all the streams of technology. Video and image data plays a very important position in communication around the globe. The usage of Medias over mobile devices had exploded years ago in technology. However, the usage of traditional network connecting protocols and the service providers are providing lack of quality in services. As the number of users who uses mobile phones is increasing day by day the video traffic over network is also increasing thereby causes disruption in the service which is caused by low bandwidth. Due to this disruption the wireless cannot able to satisfy the users demand for video streaming which eventually causes long buffering time. Influencing cloud computing knowledge to gain advantage over this issue we suggest two solutions. i) Mobile Video Streaming (MoV) and Social Video Sharing (SoV). MoV will create a private cloud for each mobile user which adjusts the bit rate based on return value using scalable video coding technique to improve the scalability and efficient utilization of bandwidth. SoV uses the agent to pre fetch the video data for effective sharing and to reduce the buffering time.
PERFORMANCE ESTIMATION OF LDPC CODE SUING SUM PRODUCT ALGORITHM AND BIT FLIPP...Journal For Research
Low density parity check code is a linear block code. This code approaches the Shannon’s limit and having low decoding complexity. We have taken LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) code with ½ code rate as an error correcting code in digital video stream and studied the performance of LDPC code with BPSK modulation in AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise) channel with sum product algorithm and bit flipping algorithm. Finally the plot between bit error rates of the code with respect to SNR has been considered the output performance parameter of proposed methodology. BER are considered for different number of frames and different number of iterations. The performance of the sum product algorithm and bit flip algorithm are also com-pared. All simulation work has been implemented in MATLAB.

Empowering the Poor Communities
1. How to Empower Poor
Communities?
(Through WB Community Driven Development
Approach)
2. are well educated and highly knowledgeable;
Live in urban areas away from communities;
Not familiar with local cultures and practices;
impatient with rural people;
Uneasy about spending time in the rural areas with
communities; Do not trust the communities with large
sums of money;
Pretend we can bring solutions to the village;
Always very scientific in our approach;
Suspicious of community members so do not eat with
them;
Regard them illiterate so we want to do things for
them;
Have access to money, networks and infrastructure.

3. Development is a process that increases
choices (for communities) to improve
people’s wellbeing in terms of the lives that
people have a reason to value (Cavaje,
2000; Emmerij, 1997)
Development involves change and
improvement due to a net increase in assets
(human, physical, financial, social and
natural)
Development
4. Community-driven development (CDD) also called
Community-based approaches to development.
Community-Driven Development (CDD) programs
operate on the principles of transparency,
participation, local empowerment, demand-
responsiveness, greater downward accountability, and
enhanced local capacity.
Community-driven development describes the process
that ensures communities have a voice and a choice
to achieve sustainable livelihoods they have a reason
to value.
Seek to empower local communities to identify and
implement the projects they most need.
What is Community Driven Development
(CDD)?
5. Community-driven development (CDD) is a development
initiative that provides control of the development process,
resources and decision making authority directly to groups
in the community. The underlying assumption of CDD
projects are that communities are the best judges of how
their lives and livelihoods can be improved and, if provided
with adequate resources and information, they can organize
themselves to provide for their immediate needs. Lastly, the
community plans and builds the project and takes
responsibility for monitoring its progress.

13. 3. Community Driven Investment program
This component includes three sub components that focus on
basic social and productive infrastructure creating economic
opportunities for self reliance and empowerment of targeted
communities.
A-Social infrastructure:
Including Feeder roads, culverts, bridges, street pavement, irrigation schemes,
community education, health centers, livestock facilities etc.
B-Productive infrastructure:
Finance small scale physical and socio-economic infrastructure, income earning
assets i.e. vocational training/skill development centers, community grain storage
facilities, cattle trough, irrigation schemes, livestock water pool, solar convergence of
water pump, agriculture machines (maize Sheller, rice thresher, fruit
processing/packaging equipment.)
C-Asset building for ultra poor:
Addressing the development needs of ultra poor and vulnerable groups in the targeted
villages. It include re-acqusition of lost assists e.g. home/shelter or income source
(Livestock, Poultry etc)
14. 3. Community Driven Investment program…..

19. Best CDD happens where community are
self organizing and taking charge of own
development When CDD is happening we see,
1. Empowered communities
2. Strengthened local governments
3. Communities holding government accountable
4. Capacity to support strengthened at the different levels of
governance
When CDD Happens…
20. Communities need to be seen as equal partners in
development processes so you talk, think, walk and sense
the issues together;
A successful CDD is a co-production phenomenon of
communities and development practitioners so there is co-
sensing and co-creation of solutions
Social capital/assets are an important element in
sustainable CDD processes
We the development practitioners are the missing piece in
the puzzle of development as we often withhold our assets
which are critical to CDD processes.
CDD processes take time to seen results;
Conclusion
