Alberto, a 40-year-old engineer, was interviewed about Chile's educational problems. He does not think education should be completely free, as people with financial means should pay. The quality of education is much higher in Chile's private schools compared to public schools, as there are no incentives for high-quality teachers in the public system. The main problem is inequality of access to quality higher education for those who want a career but lack economic resources. Providing free education could help, but it should only benefit those who truly cannot afford their studies.
