This document summarizes a research study that explored the relationship between emotional intelligence in teachers and teaching quality/performance. The study surveyed 125 teachers in Delhi and NCR, India. It found that teachers generally had high emotional intelligence, especially in social awareness. It also found significant relationships between emotional intelligence and both teaching experience/gender. Regression analysis showed a positive relationship between teachers' emotional intelligence (especially relationship management) and teaching quality. The study concludes emotional intelligence is important for effective teaching and suggests strategies like small class sizes and emotional intelligence training to enhance teachers' skills.
