1. Who would be the audience for your media product?
My magazine is aimed for females aged between 9-14 years old, the reason
for this is because the magazine uses stereotypical colours such as Pink,
Purple, Yellow and White the reason for these colours are as young females
are the main buyers of pop magazines. The content of the magazine contains
celebrity gossip on the latest pop singers and a full guide to this seasons
fashion musts. The informal language makes the reader not have to struggle
to read the text especially as a lot of the magazine contains images.
My magazine is ideal for a girl called Emily who is 13years old. Emily is still in
school studying media, music and geography. Emily’s dream job would be to
become music journalist, reading SHINE helps Emily keep up to date with the
latest music positions.
Emily enjoys going shopping with her friends and watching movies. Emily’s
hobbies consist of dancing and cooking. Katie gets a weekly allowance of
pocket money which she can spend on what she wants, buying this magazine
doesn’t cost Emily much.
Emily’s favourite band at the moment are Lawson. She also likes Will.I.Am
and Taylor Swift. Emily enjoys listening to Capital Radio Station as she likes
being up to date with the latest song releases.
Emily downloads music off of her laptop and puts it on her phone so she can
listen to it on the way to school and when she’s at home. Emily enjoys going
to concerts as she likes to experience the music first hand.
