subject, verb, complement, object,adverb.

(I)THE SUBJECT
ď‚§ A word or a group of words in a sentence about which
anyinformation is given by the verb is called subject.The subject
of a sentence is the person, place, or thing that is performing the
action of the sentence. The subject represents what or whom
the sentence is about. The simple subject usually contains a
noun or pronoun and can include modifying words, phrases, or
clauses.

 · Ali plays cricket daily.
 He attends the classes regularly.·
ď‚§ Lahore is a big city.
ď‚§ In the given examples, the italicized; Ali, he and Lahore are
subjects of the sentences.

(II)THE VERB
ď‚§ A word that describes an action, state or feelings in a sentence
is called verb.
ď‚§ It describe what the subject is doing.

 · Ali plays cricket daily.
 He attends the classes regularly.·
ď‚§ We wrote a letter.
ď‚§ In the given examples, the italicized ; plays, attends and wrote
are verbs of the sentences.

(III)THE COMPLEMENT
Def:
ď‚§ A word or a group of words that completes the meaning ofverb in
a sentence is called complement. A complement is part of the
predicate of a sentence and describes either the subject of the sentence
or the direct object.

Examples
ď‚§ They made him a chairman.
 · The girl is now a student.
 · He is a teacher.
ď‚§ In the given examples, a chairman, a student and a teacher are
complements.

ď‚§ A word or a group ofwords which receives action passed over by
the verb in a sentence is called object.The object of a sentence
is the person or thing that receives the action of the verb.

ď‚§ In the given examples the italicized; a house and cricket are
objects.

(V)THE ADVERB
ď‚§ An adverb ofa sentence defines verb in particular and other
words in general except noun or pronoun.An adverb is a word
that modifies (describes) a verb (he sings loudly), an adjective
(very tall), another adverb (ended too quickly), or even a whole
sentence (Fortunately, I had brought an umbrella). Adverbs often
end in –ly, but some (such as fast) look exactly the same as their
adjective counterparts.

ď‚§ In the given examples, always and again and again are adverbs.
