This paper presents an electric equivalent circuit model for induction electrodeless fluorescent lamps that uses passive components to account for the real and reactive power of the lamp. The model considers core losses and the reactive characteristics of the lamp, which were not included in previous models. The methodology obtains and validates the lamp model using a series-parallel resonant half-bridge inverter ballast. Simulations using the proposed model show excellent agreement with experimental results.
