The structure, challenges and strategies affecting the emergency services differ in each country, as does the approach to the work of the emergency services and public authorities. This session outlined how some countries approach these challenges and heard them share their experiences first-hand.
For many years, the opportunities to provide our citizens with greater accessibility to the emergency services have not been maximised; but there are many inspiring examples of where such opportunities have been seized and have succeeded. In this session attendees saw exactly these success stories and were inspired by their impact.
In 3 years, Advanced Mobile Location has brought considerable improvements to public safety. In this panel, experts will discuss the latest updates and the future improvements of the technology.

Technology, telehealth, and more appropriately aligned patient navigation can help emergency medical services to be more efficient. Also, how can we get better use of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) using new technologies? How can we inform citizens about where to find an AED and how to use it? You will hear from experts on these matters in this session.

The aim of the PPT is to develop an Android application that lets its users to send notifications in case of an emergency or a panic situation. The users can send multiple text messages and emails on the press of a single button. The phone numbers, email ids and the contents of the text and email messages can be set from within the application. The text messages and emails sent, along with the content, also have the last known location of the user. This is very helpful in tracking the whereabouts of the person. The user can also call 911 directly from within the application, if the nature of the situation demands it.
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF ASTERISK BASED COMPUTER SERVICES ACCESSING FRAMEWOR...ijcsity
We are today living in age where technology continues to bring about one magical transformation after
another into our lives. Especially computers and internet that constitute the cardinal components of the
present day technology have so penetrated into our live that they today make up an indispensable part of
life. In this paper, we present an Asterisk based framework that is designed particularly to the benefit of the
visually challenged people. These people find it difficult to use the conventional computer access devices
like the keyboard, the mouse or the monitor as these devices require a good hand-eye co-ordination. Our
framework is designed to take DTMF input from the user that serve as commands for execution of different
operations on the computer and provide output in the form of voice using speech synthesis. Additionally,
our framework provides the benefit of customizing it as per user needs as it is based on the open source
platform Asterisk.
This presentation is a part of the MosesCore project that encourages the development and usage of open source machine translation tools, notably the Moses statistical MT toolkit.
