Know eMail Campaign
 What is eMail Inbox?
 Audience in Mind
 Create personas of your target audience and identify what their
potential pain points can be (e.g. which is the best college, how
to define “best college”, what’s the placement record, what are
the credentials of the faculty, alumni, extra curricular activities,
industry association etc.)
 Identify (Messages) how to address these pain points
 Remember, it’s a campaign, not a single burst. Use 1 core
message in a single eMail. Don’t create overloaded information
Launch An eMail Campaign
 For every single eMail, create multiple subject lines and body
text. Initial 2-3 eMails should be A/B tested to identify the best
day and time that works, and how audience responds to
different content
 Suitable Call to Action in every eMail (download the brochure,
download placement report, download prospectus, ask for free
counseling session etc.)
 Track the KPIs. Remember, what gets measured gets improved
 Next comes the tool. Less about the tool and more about the
communication strategy discussed above
KPIs To Measure From eMail Campaign
 eMail Open Rate – How many people opened the eMail
(subject line plays a crucial role here)
 eMail Click Through Rate – How many people clicked on
any link in the eMail (content plays an important role)
 How many people clicked on the Call To Action button?
 Ideally, this is the step you want your audience to take (e.g.
download brochure, request for free counseling etc.)
 How many people convert and buy your product/service?

 Regular campaign
 The most used ones
 You can create a Graphic eMail campaign using this option
Text only eMail. Few quick
steps under this option.
 Plain-text Campaign
 Saves your effort and time (+)
 less interactive eMails (-)
 A/B testing to identify what works and what does not
 Test the content and subject line
 Mailchimp sends eMail to a sample, waits for results and
automatically selects the eMail template which performs better
(in terms of open rate)
 Discuss Email Campaign Strategies by Edu4Sure
Directly send RSS feed to a
list in an eMail.
 Directly send an RSS feed over eMail
 Let’s explore a Regular Campaign
Example - For a client, the list would refer to
the entire database of student eMail IDs who
might be interested in admission.
There can be 2 segments (students interested
in PG and UG) and groups can be interested in
MBA, BBA, PGDM etc.
Click next to proceed
to select a template
 Select the list of eMail Subscribers
(Uploaded on MailChimp in excel format, or imported from CRM)
 You can launch the campaign for an entire list or a segment of
the list or a group in that segment
 Discuss Example of a client (College)
Mention campaign name to easily identify
the campaign for future references

 Once the list is selected, specify different parameters
Click next to proceed
to select a template
Select from number of options.
We are selecting a basic 1:2
column template
 Select the template you want to use, or a saved template
you made earlier
 Let’s build the eMail from an inbuilt template
This is the word
editor. Edit here.
Check Inbuilt elements.
You can add images,
text, styles etc.
 In the word editor on right - you can edit the text,
give it style or upload an image
 Link to suitable social media icons for branding
 Social media icons
 Once the style is done, preview eMail template
created in the browser or push it to your eMail to test
Click next to proceed
to select a template
 Great….Everything is done
 Send the eMail right away or schedule it
Click Send
 Set the Time and Date
Hit “Schedule” and your
eMail is good to go
 Schedule your eMail, sit back and relax
 Soon you can see the reports in Mail Chimp dashboard
