Eda'a Tourism Research Center was established in 2009 in Jordan to conduct research and studies to aid decision making in the Jordanian tourism industry. The center aims to build a community of specialized tourism researchers in Jordan, improve the tourism research environment, and create a reliable tourism data base. Eda'a provides research, training programs, conferences, consultations, and a professional online database to benefit tourism companies, government entities, donors, universities and more. The center has conducted several tourism studies and surveys and plans to launch an Arab Journal of Tourism Research.
The involvement of hotels in promotional activities of the tourist destination of Belgrade is analysed based on the questionnaire adressed to 44 hotels. They confirmed cooperation with Tourist Organisation of Belgrade (TOB), but that cooperation is not satisfactory for them. Only 37% of respondents have help from TOB in promotional activities of hotel, while hotels involved in promotional activities organised by TOB only sometimes do. Rrelatively small percent (22%) have received free promotional materials from TOB. Also, 50 and 40% of respondents consider that Tourist Organization of Serbia and the relevant ministry, respectively, promote Belgrade as a tourist destination in an inadequate way. Nevertheless, all respondents expressed their readiness to participate in the joint promotion of Belgrade tourist offer, but so far only some of them have been involved occasionally in the preparation of promotional material or the development of programs, and that only 12% of the hotels were contacted for participation on fairs.
How to transform research results into the advertising message: The example o...Premier Publishers
This study demonstrates to advertising and marketing planners how they can transform consumer research results into the advertising message. There are three main points in the advertising strategy: “the target group (to or with whom are we going to communicate?), the advertising objectives (why are we going to communicate or what are we trying to reach?) and the message strategy (what are we going to communicate?)” (De Pelsmacker, et al., 2010: 215). Generating the advertising message strategy is one of the most challenging stages of the advertising planning. This study adopts a practical perspective to advertising strategies using a study analysis of a small tourism business that manages in attracting niche visitor segments to Artisanal Tours within the tourism market in Morocco.

Tracking huge files with Git LFS - LinuxCon 2016Tim Pettersen
Developers love Git for its raw speed, powerful history traversal, distributed nature, and (of course) the fact that it was originally built by Linus Torvalds. What we don't love is the fact that, out of the box, Git has terrible support for tracking large binary files!
Fortunately, developers from Atlassian and GitHub have teamed up to work on an open source, MIT licensed project to solve this problem: Git LFS (Large File Support). This means researchers, web designers, game developers, multimedia producers and all other developers who need to work with large data and rich media can move off legacy centralized systems and start using modern version control.
This session covers the computer science behind Git LFS' internals & architecture, CLI usage and how to build an effective Git LFS workflow for a software team.

The Reality of Tourist Sites Management in Jordan and Its Obstaclesinventionjournals
This study aimed to identify the tourist sites across the Kingdom of Jordan as they gain high valued revenues to the country if they are invested in the right way depending on planned strategies. The study also unveiled the most important obstacles in the face of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques in the process of managing different tourist sites. The study sample consists of managers of directorates of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques in all over the Kingdom and some other managers working in the center of the ministry. The study sample used a comprehensive to all tourist sites from (32) decision-makers who are directly responsible of managing and developing the tourist sites. The study used the qualitative approach to come up with results, and it used two tools in data collecting which are a questionnaire with open questions and face to face or call interviews. The study comes with the following findings: 1. The nature of performance, management and planning in the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is baseless, in other words, it will be passed away by ending manager's mission, after that, you notice that such nature is subjugated to the worker's whims. 2. Promoting tourist sites in Jordan is not only the responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism, but also linked to a campaign of Jordan tourism, consequently, that leads to duplication of performance and dispersion of efforts. 3. Absence of justice in allocating the external scholarships and tourism development projects in the tourist sites or tourist territories which in turn created a gap in the distribution of provisions gained from tourism development services 4. Obstacles faced by development of various tourist sites in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are related to the costs that tourist sites need such as infrastructure, empowering tourist locations and providing various services, due to the fact that there are a lot of tourist sites that are far from each other in different regions of the Kingdom

Our Uniqueness: In Jordan, tourism research is not often linked to research for tourism
development and enhancement purposes. Research is mainly conducted by donor
agencies working in the sector such as the EU, USAID and JICA and regularly focuses
on business development - marketing, promotion, and sales, for example. Moreover, the
Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in Jordan announced a bold decision after
launching the National Tourism Strategy 2004-2010 to fully partner with the private
sector on implementing the strategy which was also emphasized in the National Agenda
in 2005. However, reviewing the implementation of this strategy and from the current
work of the sector with the Ministry on updating the strategy for 2010-2015 it was
mentioned that more attention should be paid to research in the tourism industry. A
problem that is yet to be resolved, due to the lack of specialized centers in tourism
research even within tourism-related entities that always collect data (which is debatable
as to its reliability), is the communication of useful information to the sector. The
inexistence of a specialized tourism research center in Jordan and the lack of useful data
and information needed for a better decision making process, therefore, were behind the
idea of establishing "Eda'a Tourism Research Center", a center dedicated for tourism
research. The market opportunity of Eda'a Research Center is based on its uniqueness
and to the high demand of reliable industry information from local and international
entities interested in tourism in Jordan. Our Vision: "To build local, regional and
international recognition as a professional pioneering center specialized in tourism".
Our Mission: "To enhance the quality of the tourism services offered in Jordan through
research for development". Our Main Objectives are to:
Build a community of specialized researchers in Jordan
Improve the research environment in the tourism industry in Jordan
Spread awareness for the importance of research in tourism
Enhance the communication and the networking within the industry
Skills enhancement for the existing and potential researchers in the tourism field
Create a reliable data base about the tourism sector in Jordan
