This document discusses the differences between administrative leadership and instructional leadership for school heads. Administrative leadership focuses on managing rules, procedures, and administrative tasks, while instructional leadership focuses on student growth, teaching quality, and curriculum development. Effective school heads demonstrate both styles by setting the school's direction, managing systems and processes, promoting quality teaching and learning, engaging stakeholders, and nurturing themselves and others. Teachers can also demonstrate aspects of instructional leadership through mentoring colleagues and participating in peer review.
