1. ECOLOGY
What is a Biosphere? I. The Biosphere
A sphere of life ● How do Earth's Living and Nonliving parts
Interact and Affect the Survival of Organisms?
Why does it talk about survival or
evolution?
● Survival - Evolution
● Interact - The Main Thing
How do Earth's Living and ● Jane Goodall
Nonliving parts Interact and II. What is Ecology?
Affect the Survival of Organisms? ● Ecology is the scientific study of interactions
among organisms and between organisms and
their physical environment.
● Life with life
Key Notes ● Life with nonliving
● Ecology - Study of Interactions
Atom - Molecule III. Levels of Organization
● Smallest level of organization is atoms
Molecules - Cell ● Atoms combine will make molecules
● Molecules combine to make life cells
Cell - Tissue ● Cells will combine to make Tissues
● Tissues will get together to make Organs
Tissue - Organs ● Organs get together to make organ systems
● Organ Systems will get together to make
Organ - Organ Organisms
System ● Organisms - Species
● Species
Organ System - Organisms ● Population
● Communities
Organisms - Species ● Ecosystems - all the living environments and
the non living things
Species - Population ● Biomes (Desert, Forest)
Population - Communities
● Biosphere ( All living things)
● Ecology
Ecosystems - Biomes IV. Biotic and Abiotic Factors
● Biotic - Life
Biomes - Biosphere ● Abiotic - Non Living
● Armadillo lizard
● Plant
● Rocks
● Sunlight
● Oxygen
1. Energy, Producers, and Consumers
● Sun
● Primary Producers
2. ● Consumers
● Life Needs Energy
● Autotrophs
● Herterotroph
2. Food Chains and Food Webs
● We eat are just eating dead corpses
from another corpses
● Food Web
3. Trophic Levels and Ecological Pyramids
● Talks about Energy
● Plants take 100% energy
● First Level Consumer 10%
● Second- Level Consumer 1%
● Third - Level Consumer 0.1%
There are many factors that connects to a another factor. Ecology is part of biology because of
its studies on the animals environment. ( How they live in the environment). Also ecology is also
define in science the studies of interaction. There are levels of organization of interactions. The
level starts at the smallest then it gradually gets higher. There are many biotic and abotic
factors. Biotic factors are things that are alive and breathing, The Abiotic factors are the non
livings like for a example a rock , the air, and even the sunlight. The most energy for the biotic
factors is the sun. Life needs energy and plants as well. Also if we eat a dead animals meat
then we are eating a another dead animal and the cycle goes on. Also there a ecological
pyramids that tells you how many energy you get from eating a animal if your the first, second,
or third.
