type 2 diabetic patients attending the outpatient diabetic clinic of our hospital. To be included in the study, patients needed to have an LDL-C value above 100 mg/dL (the primary target

Analysis of the data was performed using the SPSS statistical package (SPSS 11.50.0, IL, USA). All data were assessed for normal distribution of the values. Skewed data were
analyzed using non-parametric methods. Categorical data were compared using the chi-square test.
