Froebel and Montessori had both philosophies focused on play and using materials to facilitate learning. While Froebel emphasized imaginary play using gifts and occupations, Montessori utilized specific materials to build confidence and self-mastery. Both believed the environment should nurture and guide children, rather than restrict them. Diversity and culture are important for early childhood educators to understand and promote to honor each child and family. Educators need to recognize differences and respect diverse backgrounds to advocate for social justice. Play is developmentally appropriate and enriching for young children as it allows them to construct knowledge and develop cognitively and socially.

The preschoolers in Ms. Mimi’s classroom are very busy throughout the day, work-
ing on emerging pretend-play skills, turn taking, conflict management, phonologi-
cal awareness, math knowledge, and other academic, behavioral, and social skills.
Ms. Mimi knows that young children’s readiness for school comes with increased
expectations for academic skills, but she worries that her preschoolers are not get-
ting enough experience with social skill building. When her supervisor comes for a
visit, Ms. Mimi shares her concern that she may not be meeting her preschoolers’
social needs. She says, “Some days I find myself worrying so much about teach-
ing literacy, numeracy, and all the other academic skills that I wonder if the children
have enough opportunities to learn how to get along with each other.”
Ms. Mimi’s concern is an impor-

The nurture groups are small structured teaching or learning groups of 6 to 12 students that supported by two adults staffed to provide social, emotional and behavioral difficulties (SEBD) in a mainstream early years settings, primary or secondary schools. should offer something which provides them more then education. The researcher in this paper has tried to
come out with a solution that can provide kids with support, love and care and take care of their social and
emotional needs which they can get deprived off. The educationist, psychologists and theorists have given a lot
of principles on which today’s early childhood education is based on. All this literature is like a goldmine from
within which the present researchers can still extract lots of gold. The researcher has done the same. After
going through all these theories the researcher has tried to extract some tenets that can be applied for the social
and emotional development and learning. It is not so that these tenets will lead to only social and emotional
development but can also lead to holistic development of preschoolers.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.

Julie– educator 2 is a white Australian female in her late 20's. She is a qualified group leader
currently working in a Kindy room with children aged 2.5– 2.5 years; she is also assistant director
(2IC) of her centre that she has worked at for the past ten years. The interview was a one on one
scenario, conducted in her staff room after work, the interview was recorded. Both educators
signed a letter of consent to participate in this research project, allowing the interviewee to explore
the educators' experiences and personal beliefs in relation to diversity and difference with the
families and children in their centres.(As seen in Appendix 1 & 2). Key aspects and issues in
relation to families, diversity and difference were considered essential data to be analysed for this
research report. Results and Discussion There is a significant importance placed on educators
abilities to understand and implement diversity within educational centres, both Mary and Julie
seem to have an in depth understanding of what diversity is and why it is so essential in early
childhood settings. Mary and Julie share a common perspective about diversity established by their
words such as individual, different, recognise, respect, value and promote. Holman (1998) believed

needing to develop their abilities through their play experiences, and also through their play
experiences, they can develop appropriately. Early childhood education plays a large part in a child's
early development. Children develop cognition through two main stages that Jean Piaget theorized.
The stages run from birth and infancy to school age children. Sensorimotor is the first stage and
goes from birth to about the age of two. This stage implies that the children learn about the
environment they live in and they learn this through the reflexes and movements they produce.
They also learn that they are separate people from their parents and they can say goodbye to them
and know they will come back. The second stage is called the preoperational stage. During this stage
of development, children will learn how to incorporate symbols to represent objects. This is also the
beginning of learning the alphabet and speech. The child is still very much egocentric at this point in
time, but with the help of understanding educators, the child will grow appropriately onto the next
