Ellen Shedlarz
Ellen Shedlarz is a widely respected senior executive with deep experience in developing
and executing programs related to talent and leadership development, performance
management, organizational design, succession planning, as well as general human
resource disciplines. Ellen has worked with and for many of the most respected global
companies, often during major performance transformations, mergers, and periods of
rapid growth.
Ellen currently advises a wide variety of companies and individuals through her own
consulting practice. Prior to establishing her consulting practice Ellen was the SVP of
Global Human Resources at Ziff Brothers Investment (ZBI). She was responsible for
employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, as well as
acting as a key advisor to the Ziff Brothers across all issues related to recruiting,
developing and retaining top talent.
Prior to ZBI, Ellen was Morgan Stanley’s Chief Operating Officer for the Global Talent
Management Organization. In this role, Ellen set direction for the firm’s talent initiatives
and helped to drive Morgan Stanley’s strategy to attract, retain and develop the industry’s
most exceptional talent during the overall transformation of Morgan Stanley.
For the prior four years, Ellen was Hill & Knowlton’s (H&K) Chief Talent Officer. In
this role she was responsible for determining needs, approaches and resources for talent
acquisitions, development, evaluation and retention of all staff globally. She was a
member of the Worldwide Executive Committee and was often sought out for advice and
counsel by other members of the Committee.
For the six years prior to H&K Ellen was the Chief Administrative Officer of Mercer
Delta Consulting, an organizational architecture firm. Ellen oversaw all talent, HR, and
administrative functions for Delta Consulting during a period of rapid growth. When
Delta was acquired by Mercer, Ellen oversaw the entire integration of Delta into Mercer,
including all processes and decisions related to HR and talent.
Ellen began her career at McKinsey & Company where she was an Administrative
Partner. In this role, she was responsible for the administration and operations of six
locations and served on many worldwide committees responsible for recruiting,
integrating, developing and rewarding administrative and operational staff.
Currently, Ellen is the Chair of the Board of Directors for EcoHealth Alliance, non-profit
global organization that leads cutting-edge research into the critical connections between
human and wildlife health and delicate ecosystems. With this science solutions that
promote conservation and prevent pandemic are developed.
Ellen is more than a dedicated Yankee fan. She lives in New York with her PBGV, Katie.
