Brief description of the work
1. Pumping Conduct of Álamo – Reservoir of Beringel. At the reservoir of Álamo it will be installed the Pumping Station of
Álamo, with the function to raise this reservoir to the Reservoir of Beringel. In this station will be installed 6 pumps with a
total capacity of 7.46 m3 / s. The pumping conduct is made of a DN2500 pipe and has about 1500 meters long, getting a
manometric height of 46.4 m.


2. Reservoir of Beringel. This reservoir is designed to regularize the pumped flow of the Pumping Station of Álamo, for the
irrigation of blocks located downstream, from the reservoir. Its main features are a volume of 97,000 m3 and NPA at
elevation 213.00.


3. Feeder Pipe of Beringel – Cinco Reis. This conduct is for the transport of gravity matter from the stream flow to the dam
of Cinco Reis. It has about 4060 meters long and DN2000.


4. Dam of Cinco Reis. The dam has the function to regularize the flows needed for the irrigation of the Blocos located
downstream. The maximum captured flow is 10:58 m3 / s. Its main features are a useful volume of about 1.38 hm3,
NPA at elevation 204.00 and NME at elevation 197.50.

1. Pump Station of Alfundão – with 4 equal groups of electric pumps;
2. Reservoir of Alfundão - with a capacity of 16 dam3;
3. Irrigation secondary network of Blocos - Alfundão Alto with 605.70 ha (high pressure) and Baixo Alfundão
with 3407.60 ha (low pressure), both in PEAD pipe. Integrates the irrigation network of the Alfundão pipeline,
with about 4.4 km in steel tubing, taking the water from the Dam of Pisão to the network of Alfundão Baixo
and to supply the reservoir that feeds the network of Alfundão Alto;
4. Road Network of Bloco de Rega - with eight ways to be intervened, with a length of 13.2 km;
5. Drainage network from the irrigation project - including cleaning (19 km) and reshaping of the ditch (1.2 km), totalling 20.2 km;
6. Automation and Remote Management

Caracteristics of “Installation”
WWTP with treatment capacity for 89,913 inhabitants/equivalent, a flow of 13,855 m3 / d and a peak flow of 274 m3 / h (Year 0) and 1027 m3 / h (Year HP).
The treatment basic solution to the liquid phase consists of initial lift by Archimedes screws, pre-treatment with harrowing / sieving, desanding and degreasing,
followed by primary decanting, contact tanks, biological treatment in reactors with the configuration of oxidation ditch with removal of carbonaceous organic
matter and nitrogen using pre-denitrification and simultaneous denitrification, secondary decanting and finishing with the effluent treatment for use in the
WWTP (pumping, filtration and disinfection in line). The solid phase consists of the primary sludge gravity thickening and mechanical thickening of biological
sludge in excess, followed by anaerobic digestion of mixed sludge with anaerobic digester operated at high load, in mesophyll regime and with mechanical
agitation, storage of digested sludge, mechanical dehydration with eventual hygienization and the addition of lime at a sludge storage silo. System of biogas
recovery for energy production through a cogeneration group. Deodorizing system.

  • 3. 2nd SECTION OF THE ADDUCTOR OF PISÃO - BEJA, OF THE PRIMARY WATERING SYSTEM OF ALQUEVA MULTIPURPOSE DEVELOPMENT. contracting authority: EDIA, s.a. location of the works: Beja contract value: 13 691 008,00€ Brief description of the work 1. Pumping Conduct of Álamo – Reservoir of Beringel. At the reservoir of Álamo it will be installed the Pumping Station of Álamo, with the function to raise this reservoir to the Reservoir of Beringel. In this station will be installed 6 pumps with a total capacity of 7.46 m3 / s. The pumping conduct is made of a DN2500 pipe and has about 1500 meters long, getting a manometric height of 46.4 m. 2. Reservoir of Beringel. This reservoir is designed to regularize the pumped flow of the Pumping Station of Álamo, for the irrigation of blocks located downstream, from the reservoir. Its main features are a volume of 97,000 m3 and NPA at elevation 213.00. 3. Feeder Pipe of Beringel – Cinco Reis. This conduct is for the transport of gravity matter from the stream flow to the dam of Cinco Reis. It has about 4060 meters long and DN2000. 4. Dam of Cinco Reis. The dam has the function to regularize the flows needed for the irrigation of the Blocos located downstream. The maximum captured flow is 10:58 m3 / s. Its main features are a useful volume of about 1.38 hm3, NPA at elevation 204.00 and NME at elevation 197.50. pipe diameter: DN 2000 mm a DN 2500 mm - steel reinforced concrete extension: 5630 m - steel reinforced concrete

CONSTRUCTION OF THE IRRIGATION, DRAINAGE AND ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE ALFUNDÃO BLOCK contracting authority: EDIA, s.a. location of the works: Alfundão contract value: 29 217 517,21€ Brief description of the work 1. Pump Station of Alfundão – with 4 equal groups of electric pumps; 2. Reservoir of Alfundão - with a capacity of 16 dam3; 3. Irrigation secondary network of Blocos - Alfundão Alto with 605.70 ha (high pressure) and Baixo Alfundão with 3407.60 ha (low pressure), both in PEAD pipe. Integrates the irrigation network of the Alfundão pipeline, with about 4.4 km in steel tubing, taking the water from the Dam of Pisão to the network of Alfundão Baixo and to supply the reservoir that feeds the network of Alfundão Alto; 4. Road Network of Bloco de Rega - with eight ways to be intervened, with a length of 13.2 km; 5. Drainage network from the irrigation project - including cleaning (19 km) and reshaping of the ditch (1.2 km), totalling 20.2 km; 6.
