Drupal is highly customizable through modules and themes and supports moving sites between development, test, and production environments. While it uses some technical terms like "nodes" and "taxonomy," Drupal is accessible to non-developers and can be installed on common web hosting with Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Resources for learning Drupal include books, training videos, online communities, and conferences.
Evolution of Drupal and the Drupal communityAngela Byron
The Drupal project has experienced phenomenal growth over its more than 14 years, growing from a small hobby project to over 1 million known installations, over 1 million Drupal.org users, and more than doubling the active contributors and commits in Drupal core between Drupal 7 and Drupal 8, as well as thousands of people who depend on Drupal in some way for a living.
This talk will "de-mystify" some recent developments in the community, from the technical direction of Drupal 8, to various project governance changes, to the increasing role of the Drupal Association on Drupal.org. We'll look at both the historical context that brought those changes about, and talk about how they'll help us scale to the next 1 million sites and users.
Drupal is a content management system (CMS) that allows users to build various types of websites. It was created in 1999 and is currently on version 5.1. Drupal is open source and has a large community of over 600 developers contributing to its core and over 800 contributing additional modules. It has a modular architecture that provides many features out of the box like blogging, forums, searching and multi-language support. While it has a learning curve due to its use of PHP, it is highly customizable and has a good developer community for support.

Everything You Need to Know About the Top Changes in Drupal 8Acquia
<p>Drupal 8 is on the way. And we know you want to know -- what does this mean for me?!</p>
<p>Don't fear, Angie 'webchick' Byron is here! This one hour webinar will provide you with detailed overviews on the major changes in Drupal 8, as well as several short video demos that will give you a glimpse into a few of the newest features and capabilities. Angie will explain what D8 means for:</p>
<ul>
<li>Site Builders: See Views in Core, more (and better) blocks, improved entity and field features...the list goes on!</li>
<li>Front-end Developers: We're talking HTML5, libraries, accessibility enhancements, new themes and UI elements, and faster performance, to name a few.</li>
<li>Back-end Developers: A new configuration management system, a completely rehauled Entity API, improved caching, and new built-in web services features.</li></ul>
In this guide, you’ll find a compiled list of 8 questions to consider as you plan for the future with Drupal 8. Whether you’re tackling a brand new digital project, evaluating an update for your current web property, or you’re looking for an alternative to your proprietary system, we hope this resource will come in handy!
The document discusses managing Drupal projects with Git. It describes using a "base build" repository as an upstream for new Drupal sites, containing common code. New sites clone the base build and treat it as an upstream remote, developing on their own origin remote. Periodically merging upstream keeps sites in sync while allowing independent development. This approach aims to minimize maintenance pain while focusing on user experiences rather than DevOps tasks.
This document provides instructions for installing Drupal, an open source content management framework. It discusses downloading and extracting the Drupal files, creating a database, running the installation wizard, exploring the administrative dashboard, changing themes, installing modules, and common uses for Drupal. Key points are that Drupal powers websites for major organizations and governments, it offers over 22,000 free themes and addons, and installation requires a web server like Apache or Nginx, a database like MySQL, and PHP.
Depolying Drupal with Git, Drush Make and Capistranolibsys
This document discusses automated software deployment using Git, Drush Make, and Capistrano for Drupal sites. It begins by defining software deployment and advocating for frequent, small releases with rollback capabilities. It then introduces Git for version control, Drush Make for building sites from code repositories, and Capistrano for automating deployments. Drush Make allows building a site with a single command and caches downloads. Capistrano provides a simple way to deploy code, rollback if needed, and point a site to new code releases. The document concludes by discussing alternatives and next steps like adding commit hooks, testing, and full development environments.
Phase2 Large Drupal Multisites (gta case study)Phase2
This document discusses Drupal platforms and multi-site configurations. It defines a Drupal platform as a structural form that enables the creation of products and processes without requiring new technology introductions. A Drupal multi-site allows a single Drupal installation to be shared among multiple sites, with each site having its own database and configuration. The document then describes how Georgia.gov uses a multi-site Drupal platform with inherited functionality from an OpenPublic and Georgia Agency Platform to manage many state websites from a single codebase.

The Power conversion component market in India2008Soumya Dhar
This document summarizes the power conversion components market in India. It finds that while the Indian electronics market is growing rapidly at 25-30% annually, domestic production only meets a small fraction of total demand and India imports over $12 billion worth of electronics annually. Key segments like DC-DC converters and voltage regulators have many small domestic manufacturers but the market is still dominated by large MNCs. For foreign investors, India provides advantages like tax incentives, low labor costs, and proximity to other growing markets, as demonstrated by Delta Electronics' expanding operations there. However, challenges around infrastructure and a lack of prioritization of domestic manufacturing remain.

Originally created as a message board in 2001, Drupal has grown significantly in popularity and now has over 800,000 sites using it. Drupal provides standard features like users, forums, blogs, articles and more through its modular structure. It also has a large community that contributes additional modules and themes to extend its functionality.
This document provides an introduction to Drupal from Aniket Maithani. It begins with introductions and then asks what Drupal is, defining it as a free and open-source content management framework. It highlights some high-profile sites built with Drupal like the White House and Acquia. It then guides the reader through installing Drupal locally and exploring basic features. It also discusses making custom Drupal distributions and using Drush to administer Drupal sites. Finally, it provides an overview of new features in Drupal 8.
This document discusses why the author has not upgraded from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8. It notes that Drupal 8 introduced significant changes, including using Composer and Symfony frameworks. While Drupal 8 offers many new features and improvements, it also has a large code base and learning curve. Upgrading existing sites and custom modules would be challenging. Additionally, Drupal 7 is still well supported. Therefore, the author believes it is not yet necessary to upgrade and plans to continue using Drupal 7 for now.
The Organic Groups module enables users to create and manage their own groups on a Drupal site. Each group has a home page where subscribers can post different node types like blogs, stories, or pages to communicate with other group members. Groups can be public, require approval to join, or be invitation-only. The module provides many configuration options and integrates with other modules like Views and Panels. It allows delegation of content and user management for team and community sites.

The document provides an introduction to theming in Drupal 7. It covers prerequisites for theming including HTML, CSS, and basics of Drupal and PHP. It then discusses theming concepts such as theme components, templates, overriding functions, and tools for theming. The document provides examples of how to create templates, add variables, and override functions to customize a Drupal theme.
This document provides guidance on search engine optimization (SEO) for Drupal sites. It discusses selecting keywords to define the intended audience and market, optimizing pages through titles, URLs, and content, and optimizing the full site through XML sitemaps, speed improvements, and redirects. It recommends several Drupal modules to help with on-page and full-site SEO and lists tools for keyword research, analytics, and validation. The overall aim is helping sites rank higher in search engines through both on-page and off-page optimization techniques.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
