Dear Neighbor,
I want to hear your thoughts and ideas, which is why I’m going
door-to-door visiting with residents. We are fortunate to have a very
diverse community that cares deeply about the environment and
preservation, our outstanding schools, parks, trails, and neighborhoods.
We have so much to be proud of, but we also have challenges that
need to be addressed and we should always strive to improve our
quality of life.
I’m running because I care about the future of our community. It is
so important that we have good people who are willing to serve on
our Board and my knowledge and experience serving on our Township
Planning Commission and at our state Capitol would make me a highly
effective board member for you and your family from day one.
Below is a list of thoughts and ideas I’ve heard while
visiting with residents, which I plan to focus on:
1. Prioritize repair and maintenance of neighborhood roads.
2. Maintain our excellent police, fire and EMS services.
3. Support our outstanding school districts.
4. Protect our environment and preserve green space.
5. Revitalize and diversify our existing commercial areas.
6. Connect our bike paths and trails and building a pathway from
the River Trail and MSU all the way to Lake Lansing Park.
7. Continue to invest in our parks and land preservation.
8. Work together in a collegial and respectful manner, put customer
service first, and focus on problem solving.
9. Pay down our unfunded pension and retiree benefit costs and
manage the township’s finances wisely and diligently.
If you have an idea or concern to add to this list please let me know.
I look forward to visiting with everyone as I go door-to-door and I
hope you will cast 1 of your 4 votes for me on Tuesday, August 2!

Dan Dear Friend,
Dan helped my wife and I resolve a mistake we made on a tax return. We
attempted to contact the Department of Treasury regularly to resolve the
issue but we were getting nowhere. It was a very frustrating experience.
Long story short, we made a paperwork error on our 2013 tax return, which
could have cost us more than $10,000.
Dan met with us within hours of our phone call and was able to resolve the
issue with 24 hours. We received our correct tax return two weeks later.
He listened, understood our issue and got the job done for our family. We’re
very thankful for his help and assistance. Dan is a great person and is
tremendously resourceful, you couldn’t ask for a better public servant.

Dear Friend,
Dan helped my husband and I get back on our feet when we were behind onour electric bill. We are retired and living on a fixed income. We had somehealth-related issues that really took their toll on our family and we fell veryfar behind on our electric bill. To make matters worse, we had equipment inour home that we used for treatment that required electricity.
Dan was phenomenal and went above and beyond to ensure that ourelectricity was not turned off and helped us get back on our feet in our timeof need. He was able to secure over $7,200 in assistance to help us getcurrent on our electric bill and communicated with us every day during thisvery stressful ordeal. We’re very grateful for his help and assistance.
It was a very stressful time in our lives and we don’t know what we wouldhave done without his help. He is a terrific person who truly cares!
