Honorably Retired from the Air National Guard March 1, 2000. Service includes 8.5 years
active duty in the Air Force. Responsibilities included installing, maintaining, and modifying
telecommunications, cryptographic and networking equipment. Other Experience: Supervise
a work center with 8 individuals, run quality control program for work center, establish a
detailed training program, and assist in maintenance of telephone, radio and antenna
systems.
Tektronix, Inc
Systems Repair Technician, Beaverton, Oregon 1990 - 1992
Responsibilities included repairing a wide range of equipment in Diffusion, Litho, CVD,
Implant and Etch. Also required component level repair, software programming, developing
and scheduling new preventive maintenance programs, inventory control for parts and
supplies, providing good documentation and support to engineers and production.
Field Service Technician, Wilsonville, Oregon 1988 - 1990
This was a Bench Test position for testing, modifying, digital/analog troubleshooting, and
component level repair of microprocessor based color graphic terminals, high-resolution
monitors, and high efficiency power supplies.
E D U C A T I O N
Outline of Training and Education 1980 - Present
All my industrial training and experience within the Semiconductor Industry, combined with
formal education, can be applied to one or more Semiconductor Specialty degrees. Here’s a
general breakdown of my education:
4. •Intel - Attended many formal industry specific classes within Intel and the vendors we
worked with, mostly in Plasma Etch and Lithography. Implant was all OJT.
•OJT - Many formal classes in semiconductor process training, combined with on the job
training. For example, the first 6 months in the Tektronix semiconductor factory, my
training included removing a Thermco diffusion stack, and installing a modular Eurotherm
System from ground up: i.e. wiring 240 down to 12 volts, installing the new equipment,
and learning the software programming and operational system, etc.
•Tektronix – Attended many formal industry specific classes in the 2 years I was working at
Tektronix in Etch, Diffusion, Thin Films Sputtering Systems, Lithography, etc.
•United States Air Force – Attended what accounted for college level classes specifically in
the field of communication electronics through the 20 years of service.
•Portland Community College – Attended PCC for a couple of refresher courses that helped
my current career in the Semiconductor Industry, specifically electronic classes.
•University of Maryland – Attended mostly core classes (Math, English, Physics, etc) while
stationed in Iceland.
