Abstract Access Control Model for Dynamic RDF Datasets
This talk was given by FORTH, Greece, at the European Data Forum (EDF) 2012 took place on June 6-7, 2012 in Copenhagen (Denmark) at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
Abstract:
Given the increasing amount of sensitive RDF data available on the Web, it becomes increasingly critical to guarantee secure access to this content. Access control is complicated when RDFS inference rules and other dependencies between access permissions of triples need to be considered; this is necessary, e.g., when we want to associate the access permissions of inferred triples with the ones that implied it. In this paper we advocate the use of abstract provenance models that are de fined by means of abstract tokens operators to support fine grained access control for RDF graphs. The access label of a triple is a complex expression that encodes how said label was produced (i.e., the triples that contributed to its computation). This feature allows us to know exactly the e ffects of any possible change, thereby avoiding a complete recomputation of the labels when a change occurs. In addition, the same application can choose to enforce diff erent access control policies or, diff erent applications can enforce di fferent policies on the same data, avoiding the recomputation of the label of a triple. Preliminary experiments have shown the applicability and benefi ts of our approach.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

This image is usually link to the main story of the page which in this case is the band “Green Day”. Also by doing this automatically attract you to the story and takes space up on the page as well. Side Images – Side images usually give more detail or another perspective to the story for example this side image shows an album of “Foxboro hot tubes” which links into the story as it is Green days alter ego. Main Titles – The main titles on this page is in bold and in different colours to all the other text so it stands out more. However this title is in the middle just below the side image and text. Side text – The side text is just to tell you a bit of information about the side image, for example this one tells us about the album“Stop drop and roll” by “Foxboro hot tubs”. Main Text – The main text talks about the main story on the page which in this case is about the band “ Green day” and there alter egothe “Foxboro Hot Tubs” with their new album “Stop Drop and Roll”.In this case there is only this story as it is such a big one because it is showing that the band “Green day” is still up to their old tricks of being pranksters and that they have not change which attracts to their fans as they properly do not want them to change one bit. Advertisement – The advertisement on this links to the main story about the band “Green day” and advertising 3 songs which came out calling the Killer, which links to slang saying that they are really good.
