Dolley Madison Library Porous Pavement Replacement
Project Details
Description:
The Maintenance and Stormwater Management Division successfully completed the removal and replacement of 8,133
square feet of failing porous concrete at 1244 Oak Ridge Avenue (Dolley Madison Library) with new Stormcrete permeable
concrete slabs.
Project Overview:
 Removed and disposed of 8,133 square feet of failing porous concrete and 3” of existing leveling course stone.
 Removed 40 feet of damaged underdrain pipe and replaced with 40 feet of new underdrain pipe.
 Replaced the stone that was removed with 3” of #8 gravel and placed the new Stormcrete permeable concrete slabs on
top of the #8 gravel.
 Parking space lines were painted onto the new concrete slabs and parking block bumpers were installed.
 Parking lot was swept clean of construction debris and opened back up to the library for use.
