blind spot a small region in each eye that cannot see our surroundings. This
phenomenon brings about the theory of inattentional blindness; that we sometimes
miss opportunities or events because we are focusing on something else. The
concept rose from Harvard psychologists Daniel J Simons and Christopher F
Chabris 1999 Gorillas in our midst study. Their aim was to study the psychology of
vision, doing so by creating four 75 seconds films involving two team of 3 players,
one team wearing white tops and the other wearing black, moving around passing 2

If you ask a child what their favorite holiday is, you might be surprised to hear them
say Halloween! Between the costumes, candy, parties, and thrill of the scare,
Halloween has become a fast favorite over the decades. Coinciding with its rise in
popularity, however, is a rise in dangerous food allergies that put trick or treaters at a
serious health risk.
What Are Food Allergies?
The body is an incredible feat of biological design, but sometimes, it mistakenly
attacks itself (autoimmune) or overreacts to certain substances (allergies), which can
lead to potentially life threatening symptoms. For people who suffer from food
allergies, their body s immune system mistakenly identifies harmless food proteins as
dangerous and abnormally reacts in efforts to destroy them.
According to FARE (Food AllergyResearch and Education), a food allergy reaction
sends someone to the ER roughly every 3 minutes.
Food allergy symptoms can vary from mild digestive problems to nausea, hives, skin
rash, vomiting, flatulence, itching, cramping, swollen lips, and even swollen
airways. Severe anaphylaxis and a drop in blood pressure can lead to loss of
consciousness and death if not immediately treated.

Funerals have been a long running tradition in many cultures and societies after a
loved one has passed. In the book Tuesdays with Morrie , by Mitch Albom, the
main character, Morrie, chose to have a living funeral after receiving the news that
he had ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig s disease, is a
nervous system disease that weakens muscles and impacts a lot of physical functions
finally proceeding to death. A living funeralis held before the person has passed, so
the person who is soon to pass can hear all the wonderful things that their friends and
familyhave to say before they pass. Living funerals aren t practiced as much as the
classic funeral because the views on a living funeral are not anywhere near as
popular. Living funerals for most can create a sort of awkward and emotionally
degrading experience. Then again, I feel like seeing a loved one in their final
moments is a very hard experience. Having a living funeral can raise lots of
questions as to why someone would elect to have one instead of having a regular
funeral. Morrie made the correct decision to have a living funeral and the main
idea of a living funeral should be just as accepted as a regular one. The idea behind
a living funeral is to accept the fact that death is approaching. After someone can
accept that fact then the idea of having a living funeral comes into play. Wondering

The New England Region, And The Colonial Region
Each of the three different regions had differences that highlighted the legacy of
that certain region. The New England Region was known for its fish and harbors
because of its geography in America. The Mid Atlantic region was known for its
perfect climate for growing crops and it balanced indentured servants and slaves. The
Southern Region legacy was that is produced three high in demand products and it
imported slaves in an exponential increase. The major British colonial regions
possessed specific commodities which ran their economy but each region had
different tolerances towards religion and slaves.
In the mid 1700s, the New England region of the British incorporated the
Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire colonies. The New
England region s climate and richness of the soil were not ideal for farming
vegetables and fruit, unlike the Mid Atlantic. The importance for cities in colonies
to be situated on the coast was immense, this allowed for easier exports and
imports. With lots of ports and harbors, the New England regions were fitting for
fishing and vessels. By 1765, this region was exporting 35 million pounds of fish to

New Englanders began to produce large cargo vessels, the production of the vessels

and that we are increasingly desensitised to its deleterious effects? On the 11th of
November, 11 am in 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after four
gruelling and horrific years of carnage and bloodshed. Every year, Australians pause
for one minutes to remember those who gave their lives in war. It is a ritual that is
etched into the national psyche. Carol Ann Duffy s 1985 poem, War Photographer
captures the devastating experiences and effects of war. The poem results from Duffy
s friendship with Don McCullin and Philip Jones Griffiths, two highly respected stills
photographers who specialised in documenting war. Her poem conveys the critical
importance of taking action against War rather than dismissing it. The suffering and
devastation caused by war is brought to light through the photographer whose images
convey trauma and intense human suffering. These negative impacts of war are
graphically represented through Duffy s excellent use of imagery, but it is her
mocking tone that shapes the reader s understanding of the experience of war. Home

Through Duffy s words of running children in a nightmare heat she has made us
realise that not only are people involved in wars affected, but innocent civilians are
also harmed. Her pessimistic tone throughout her poem forces us to question society
s endeavours to prevent the occurrence of wars. Only recently, Russian rebel fighters
brought down a commercial airliner due to conflicts between Russia and Ukraine.
Additionally, Duffy has evoked a sense of guilt, as often war and the suffering
