Do you know how your body
interacts with food?
Presentations to educate, motivate and inform on health
messages, health interventions, and health behaviors.
Personalized wellness is a journey to balancing the mind, body and spirit.
- This presentation focuses on helping to balance the body and includes the use of
tools such as DNA and blood tests to understand more about your own body and how
you, as an individual, interact with and respond to food, nutrients, exercise and
medications.
Personalized Wellness:
Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and
making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling
life. Wellness is more than being free from illness, it is a
dynamic process of change and growth.
- UC Davis

• Medication Metabolism
• Disease Predisposition
Start Your Own Personal Wellness Journey
Many diseases, conditions or maladies can be traced back to nutritional deficiencies,
hormonal imbalances, allergies / sensitivities and /or genetic variations.
Understanding your
body is like putting
together pieces of a
puzzle.
It may take multiple
tests to gather the
necessary pieces.
Nutritional Status / Nutritional Deficiencies
Plasma Nutritional Status Functional Nutritional Status
Sample type Blood Draw - Plasma Blood Draw – Immune Cells
Nutrients Measured Vitamins and minerals Vitamins, minerals, antioxidant
function, and immune response score
Testing Technology Examines serum nutrient status
at a single point in time. Serum
nutrient levels do not represent
cellular levels associated with
cellular function
Examines cellular nutrient needs to
support cell metabolism, utilization
and DNA synthesis of lymphocytes
(immune cells). Measures long-tern
nutrient status (4-6 months)
Results Interpretation If plasma levels are lower than
the normal reference range,
you are considered to be
deficient in that nutrient
Report will indicate which nutrients
your cells are deficient in and which
nutrients you are borderline deficient
in.
Neither method will tell you if the deficiency is due to:
1) not getting enough of the nutrient in your diet,
2) not absorbing the deficient nutrient from your food/supplement or
3) not converting the nutrient to it’s active form
Hormonal Balance
Hormones are special chemical messengers that regulate most body functions including:
• Basic needs - like hunger
• More complex systems - like reproduction
• Emotional and mood responses - like anxiety, happiness, or depression
An imbalance in even one hormone can cause a cascade of events that alters the levels of other
hormones
That’s why it is important to take a comprehensive look at your hormone status.

Is it an Allergy or a Sensitivity?
Allergy:
A true allergic response is often triggered by a specific immune response that
causes the production of an IgE antibody. When the amount of antibody
overwhelms the immune system, the immune cells burst and release histamine.
Histamine is what causes allergy symptoms.
Common allergy symptoms include:
Sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, rashes, hives, gastrointestinal discomfort,
constriction of the throat, headaches, joint pain and others
Sensitivity:
Common foods, chemicals and molds that do not cause an IgE (allergic) response,
may still trigger chronic activation of the immune system, causing inflammation in
the body. If not addressed, inflammation may build up in the body. Chronic
inflammation has been associated with increased risk for diabetes, heart disease,
some cancers, weight gain and more.
Common food and chemical sensitivity symptom may include:
Aching joints, fatigue, migraines, gastrointestinal disorders, eczema, hyperactivity,
ADD, asthma and even overweight and obesity

Genetic testing has moved into the mainstream and is the
future of preventive health.
In addition to the thousands of tests being offered for medical
conditions and diseases, the science and research behind
genetic testing for lifestyle and wellness improvement has
progressed dramatically.
Genetic Variability Makes You Unique
Genetic testing can help you understand:
• How you absorb and metabolize nutrients like fats, carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and
minerals
• What exercise routines are best for you to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight
• What you can do to keep yourself looking and feeling young longer
• What your genetic and environmental risk is for certain diseases (predisposition) like,
Alzheimer's, certain cancers, heart disease, and more
• What medications will work well with your body and which ones might cause adverse
reactions for you
Diet & Exercise DNA Test
Ascientifically-based weight management program
that identifies your unique genetic makeup and
then provides diet and exercise strategies that are
tailored to your genotype.
This test provides diet and exercise
recommendations based on your DNA.
Cheek cells are collected and DNA is
extracted from your own cheek cells
Healthy Aging DNA Test
An innovative healthy aging program that
utilizes your genetic profile to provide
nutrient, food, activity and lifestyle
recommendations to keep you looking
and feeling young longer.
Research has linked numerous aging
signs to genetic predisposition, and many
of these indications may be addressed
with DNA-based lifestyle changes.
Test type =
Cheek cells
Genetic Disease Predisposition Testing
Provides insights into the disease conditions you have a higher genetic
risk for, what your environmental risk is and guidance on reducing your
risk.
Your comprehensive Health Management Report includes:
• Your lifetime risk (High, Medium, Low) of 25 diseases and conditions
• Your risk compared to similar individuals
• Your genetic risk vs. your environmental risk
• Results summary
Test type =

DNA Medication Metabolism Test
Provides insight into which medication
classes may cause more harm than good
and which medications work well with
your own DNA.
Test type =
