Period AD 450-1300.
Introduction
Public speaking (also called oratory or
oration) is the process or act of
performing a speech to a live audience.
This type of speech is deliberately
structured with three general purposes:
to inform, to persuade, and to entertain.
Public speaking is commonly
understood as formal, face-to-face
speaking of a single person to a group
of listeners. It is closely related to
“presenting” but presenting is more
associated with commercial activity.

5. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress this week. What works? What else needs to be done to help the students learn? Identify what
help your instructional supervisor can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions.
