2. Vertigo Films is a British
Film production and
distribution company based
in London. They distributed
movies such as 'London to
Brighton' and 'Spring
Breakers'. They distribute
and produce a wide range of
films, some of which are
independent or cult films and
all different genres. I feel
like Vertigo Films would be a
good option for my opening
sequence as they are
experienced with low-budget
thriller films.
3. Paramount is a film
production/distribution
studio, consistently ranked as
one of the largest (top-
grossing) film studios.
Paramount pictures has done
films such ‘Psycho’ and
‘Shutter Island’, both of
which are very well-know and
recognized Thrillers. The
disadvantage of using
Paramount Pictures is that all
though they have the ability
to distribute and market my
low budget independent
movie to a large scale, they
aren’t British and ideally I
would like to use a British
film company and therefore
Paramount Pictures does not
meet my criteria.
4. Film4 is a British Film
Company owned by Channel 4.
The company has been
responsible for backing a large
number of films made in
the United Kingdom. A really
good element of film4
productions is that they also
offer funding for small budget
films such as ‘Innocence’ and
therefore would be ideal for
securing extra funding for my
opening sequence which
means a better quality film.
Film4 has distributed films
such as ‘127 Hours’ and ’12
years a slave’
5. New line Cinema is a film
company and a Subsidiary
of Warner Bros. Having a
bigger film distributor for my
small budget film would
really raise awareness for my
film and is capable of being
distributed nationally. New
Line Cinema distributed
‘Se7en’, a psychological
thriller, grossed $327 million
and was a commercial
success.
