Our society is changing due to constant external events. In this 1/2 year multidisciplinary minor programme, you will acquire a broad overview of external events impacting society and discover how to respond and act. You will learn how to professionally deal with disruptive events in society, such as natural disasters, migration, terrorist attacks and climate change. This multidisciplinary pre-graduation minor programme, offered by Avans University of Applied Sciences, is now open for application. Start: August 2019 in 's-Hertogenbosch.

PROGRAMME:
The programme consists of 4 main types of disruptive
events that will be studied in depth. The different studies
consist of theory, analysis and experience. Numerous
experts will provide input to the programme.

STUDY TRIP:
The study trip is a fixed part of this minor program. If you
subscribe for the minor program you will also join the
field trip. Earlier field trips have been to the tent camps in
Calais, the refugee camps on the Greek island Lesbos,
the Italian city Palermo. Seeing the situation with your
own eyes will improve your understanding of the
complexity.

LANGUAGE:
The programme will be fully in English in 2019.
International discourse is valuable for the understanding
of the complexity of problems that Europe and the
Netherlands are facing. Therefore, we especially
welcome students from abroad to bring their experience
and perspectives.

TUTORS:
The minor program will be guided by an experienced
team of tutors with different background. All of them
have experience working with and in disruptive events.
The team is open minded, hands-on, proactive and able
to facilitate multidisciplinary collaborations. Tutors have
a background in among others; security studies,
architecture, business administration, politics, social
studies, development studies. All tutors have years of
educating experience.
