In approximately 700 years, Earth has become overrun with garbage and devoid of life due to environmental degradation and consumerism. The surviving humans live on the space ship Axiom after evacuating Earth centuries ago, with the plan being for robots called WALL-Es to clean up Earth within 5 years for recolonization. However, only one WALL-E unit remains active, who discovers a living plant seedling and becomes infatuated with an EVE probe, showing her the plant which causes her to take it and go inactive. WALL-E clings to the ship returning EVE, bringing him to the Axiom where the obese passengers have become dependent on technology.

garbage and devoid of plant and animallife, the consequenceof years of
environmentaldegradation and thoughtlessconsumerism. The surviving
humansare living on thespaceship Axiomafter vacating Earth centuries earlier.
The original plan was for humansto live in outer space for 5 years while
cleaningrobots ("WALL-Es" inventedby Professor Simon) prepared Earth for
recolonization.

6. However, only one WALL-E remains, who has gained sentience and isable to
stay activeusing partsfrom other units
8. One day, Wall-E discovers a healthy seedling, which
he returns to his home.
9. Later, an unmanned
spaceship lands and
deploysan EVE probe
to scan the planet.
WALL-E is infatuated
with EVE, who is
initiallyhostile but
graduallybefriends
him.

means.
Eve is a robot, sent down to find
life on Earth.

31. 1. What are they doing?
2. What can you recycle?
3. Why is it important?
32. In the film, Earthis covered
in litter.
Trainshave stopped
running, shops are boarded
up, and everything is dirty.
The garbage piled up looks
like buildings.
33. Recycling is when you save and
take reusable materials to places
where they can be made into same
product or new products.
This is instead of putting them in a
land-fillsite.
Thisreduces the amount of litter
produced, and helps us avoid the
problem we see in the film.
