This document discusses the treatment of nasal polyps affecting the frontal sinus. It notes that:
- Most patients with nasal polyps do not have symptoms related to the frontal sinus prior to medical therapy or sinus surgery.
- Only patients with frontal sinus symptoms refractory to medical treatment require frontal sinus surgery such as a modified Lothrop procedure or osteoplastic flap.
- Postoperatively, polyps often return in the frontal recess but do not typically cause issues. Medical therapy can control recurrent frontal recess polyps in most cases.
