DIGIPAK FRONT COVER
DRAFTING
MICHAEL BADDELEY
DRAFTING REASONING
Throughout the next 10 slides I have placed my mock ups for the ancillary
product that I am required to make. Before creating the product I decided
that I was going to make a cover for the album in which the song is on
instead of having it as a single.
After looking at many different covers for albums in this genre I decided that
I was going to try and keep the cover very minimalistic. I studied many
different covers, including the original artwork for this particular album, and
the general theme was to have a shot of the artist taking up most of the
cover with the name of the artist and album title underneath. However, the
cover for this album was just a see through cover with a piece of red gaffer
tape over the seal.
I feel like this album is different from most albums in this genre and needed
something a lot different. I believe that this album has more of a political
statement to it than others in this genre so instead of having a shot of the
artist on the cover I decided to make it like a formal piece and have just the
artist name and album name on a black canvas. I will also try and make the
statement about how it doesn’t matter about the cover as it’s all about what
is on the CD.
