Diffusion of innovation

PROCESS OF ADOPTION

INNOVATION-ADOPTION AND DIFFUSION
Micromax successfully adopted an innovation and diffusion process for their mobile phones in India. They innovated affordable smartphones with good quality and launched various models. Their communication strategy involved making Akshay Kumar their brand promoter and running effective campaigns. This helped their mobile phones spread widely through social changes and changing consumer behavior over time. However, their LED TV launch using the same strategy failed as it lacked proper communication, brand promotion, and was launched at the wrong time without considering social and market changes. Their marketing strategy for LED TV needs to focus on brand promoters, offers, price penetration and social marketing.

multimedia. Mobile phones have metamorphosed
into smartphones which are far advanced than
their predecessors. These smartphones are new

to study their diffusion across global markets.
Indian markets in particular have been swamped
by millions of smartphones each month in the last
