READING
 甲: (fill in blank): Please fill in the missing information
in the blank based on the reading.
 1.上午十点半,他打电话给林朋,接电话的是__________。

 乙: (True or False) Please mark “x” for ture and “√” for

 1. Lin Peng’s sister told Wang Li that he went shopping
in China town.
 丙: (answer the question after reading)
 Unfortunately Lin Peng became the suspect of a murder
case happened on the same day. You are Lin Peng’s
lawyer, can you please build a timeline of activates he
has done and the witness who can testify for his
activities.
Chinese word puzzle: cut a reading into pieces.
Teacher can even set different levels.
The lower level will be cut in less pieces and higher
level will be cut into more pieces.
Students need to put the pieces together based on
their English meaning.
They can work from an easy level to more difficult
levels.
Depending on student’s level, some students will even
have original text to help them put the reading
together.

 Performance Task: you will need to write a skit “Devil wears
Prada” in Chinese.
 Two roles: one is the fashion devil boss; one is the fashion devil
boss’s assistant.
 Plot: The assistant needs to help organize a fashion show. She
has selected few sets of clothes for the runway but she needs to
seek the final approval from her boss. What would her boss say?
 Vocabulary: Your skit has to contain sentence structures we
learned from this unit:
 -Matching clothes;
 -Seeking opinion;
 -Giving opinion;
 -Asking for suggestion
 -Giving suggestion
 -Looking for missing things
 *Setting and things that you need to put in the parentheses to
explain the action can be in English

 situation 1:
 HSSIS is organizing an international trip. The president
of the student government wants to find out where
everyone has been already and where everyone wants
to go, as well as what languages students speak.
 Situation 2:
 A international company is hiring a salesperson. The
manager wants to find out the candidates travel
background and places he or she would like to go. The
manager also needs to find out the candidate’s
language skills
Role 1: president of the student government
Role 2: a regular student
Role 1: manager
Role 2: salesperson candidate
 Situation 3: the FBI is investigate Boston terrorist suspect and they
want to find out where he has been and where he wants to go and his
language skills.
FBI: 2014 你去过哪儿?
Terror suspect: 我哪儿都没去过.
FBI: 真的吗?你去过美国Boston.
Terror suspect:(sigh…) 我去过 Boston
FBI: 你会说Arab语吗?
Terror suspect: 我不会说Arab语.
