Teachers’ Perceptions
on grammar importance, classroom
activities, error correction, and their role in
the classroom vary based on experience,
culture, and teaching philosophy. Some
emphasize systematic grammar instruction,
while others prioritize real-life language use.
Classroom activities range from student-
centered to traditional approaches, and error
correction preferences differ between
accuracy and creativity. Teacher roles can be
facilitative or authoritative.
Encouraging open discussions and
professional development can enhance
teaching practices.
The Students’ Perception
on grammar importance, classroom
activities, error correction, and the
teacher's role vary based on individual
learning styles and preferences.
Understanding these perspectives helps
educators tailor strategies, create a
positive learning environment, and
empower students in their learning journey.
7. Discussion
Teachers' and students' perceptions regarding grammar importance, classroom
activities, error correction, and the teacher's role significantly impact the teaching and
learning process. Teachers' views on grammar range from its fundamental role in
communication to a more flexible, context-based approach. Classroom activities elicit
varying preferences, with some valuing interactive and engaging methods, while others
rely on traditional approaches. Error correction approaches also differ, with some
emphasizing accuracy and feedback, while others promote creativity and
communication. The teacher's role varies from a facilitator to an authoritative figure.
Similarly, students' perceptions of grammar, classroom activities, error correction, and
the teacher's role differ, influencing their engagement and motivation. Addressing these
diverse perceptions through open dialogues, professional development, and inclusive
teaching practices enhances the learning experience for all students.
8. Conclusion
Teachers' and students' perceptions regarding the
importance of grammar, classroom activities, quality and
quantity of error correction, and the role of the teacher
in the classroom vary significantly. Teachers have diverse
views on these aspects, influenced by their educational
background, teaching experience, cultural factors, and
personal philosophies. Similarly, students' perceptions are
shaped by their learning preferences and experiences. It
is essential for educators to consider and incorporate
these perceptions into instructional strategies to create a
positive and inclusive learning environment. Open
discussions and professional development can aid in
refining these perceptions and improving teaching
practices for better learning outcomes.
