This document describes a thesis project that aims to control an industrial manipulator using MATLAB. The objective is to establish serial communication via RS232 to remotely control the Diamond H1 manipulator and extend its operation with an automatic control system. The document discusses the manipulator's characteristics, axis coordination, command syntax, serial communication protocol, and approaches for point-to-point control and closed-loop control with visual feedback using a camera. Experiments are presented to demonstrate the remote control capabilities.
