The symptoms of pancreatic cancer go undetected in the body and grow to the extent making the case of the patient terminal. In most of the cases, symptoms begin to surface only after the cancer becomes completely malignant. Adenocarcinoma is the medical term, assigned to such cancer and it is one the few forms of cancer, which has the lowest rate of recovery.

Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer
- 2. Very often, the symptoms of pancreatic cancer go undetected in the body and grow to the extent making the case of the patient terminal. In most of the cases, symptoms begin to surface only after the cancer becomes completely malignant. Adenocarcinoma is the medical term, assigned to such cancer and it is one the few forms of cancer, which has the lowest rate of recovery. Over last 40 years, progress in the detection and treatment of this type of cancer has remained dismal. Why pancreatic cancer is not diagnosable at early stage? To understand this, you would need to have a fair understanding about the physiology of the human-body. The pancreas only exist in the deeper part of the body. When malignancy of the tumor begins in that part, the routine medical tests are unable to diagnose it. It is only when cancerous effect spreads to the other parts of the body, diagnosis become possible.

Risk factors : Older age, gender, history of cancer in the family, genetic syndromes, diabetes, long occurring pancreatitis (inflammation in the pancreas), liver Cirrhosis, and chronic stomach problems are responsible for causing cancer in the pancreas. Symptoms : Ache in the upper abdomen - Usually pancreatic cancer grows inside the main areas of digestive system. So the patient complains about gastrointestinal problems. Pancreatic cancer brings a dull ache in the upper abdomen. But pain does not last all the time; it comes and goes.
- 4. Bloating and swelling in abdomen - Even after eating a small quantity of food, the patient feels lack of appetite and the abdomen bloats up easily. Persons suffering from this cancer finds an unusual swelling in the abdomen. Nausea - The patient also feels a sense of nausea. This is because of the gastrointestinal problem taking place in the stomach. Weight loss - The symptoms worsen with weakness and loss of weight from the body. Higher blood sugar - As the pancreas stop functioning properly, it results in higher blood sugar.
