 Facilitate integrated management practices for grounds staff to employ on the outdoor landscape of
University of Washington (UW) Seattle Campus.
 Responsible for the Grounds Management department pesticide use program.
 Coordinate with Intercollegiate and Recreation Athletics grounds staff to ensure all practices comply
with Salmon Safe specifications.
 Manage noxious weed populations on UW Seattle Campus and report actions to the King County
Noxious Weed program.
 Manage all regulatory reporting for Grounds Management in-house composting program.
 Investigate sustainability practices that could be implemented by grounds management staff

 Managed invasive species activities on all Scenic Hudson fee lands including mapping, control,
exclusion/eradication, and contractor projects.
 Conducted various monitoring on Scenic Hudson managed or fee properties including annual
woodland pool monitoring; grassland management monitoring; and rare, threatened, and
endangered plant monitoring.
 Collected and propagated native seed for nursery stock and for specific projects. Created formal
collection and propagation protocols.
 Coordinated and led volunteer workdays related to natural resource management including invasive
species removal, native plant installation, and biological monitoring.
 Created opportunities to engage the public through learn and serve workdays and citizen science
activities on Scenic Hudson parks and properties.
 Produced outreach material to inform public about various natural resources projects and
educational material to train volunteers for various activities from biological monitoring to invasive
plant control.
 Created and maintained partnerships with government agencies and community groups in the
Hudson Valley for invasive species management, native seed collection, and volunteer
opportunities.
 Identified and implemented small scale (five to ten acres) ecological restoration projects located on
various Scenic Hudson fee lands ranging from tidal shorelines to mature forest habitats.
 Maintained and improved Scenic Hudson’s parks management MS Access based stewardship
database and manage parks team ArcGIS geo-database.
 Supervised full-time interns, volunteers in the field, and manage all personnel involved in specific
stewardship projects.

 Performed biological and construction monitoring for a wetland and trail enhancement project in
order to protect the federally listed San Francisco garter snake and California red-legged frog.
 Monitored heavy equipment, used hand and power tools to clear vegetation, and relocated wildlife
outside of project site.
 Conducted aspects of ecological restoration including removing invasive species, constructing
protective fences, monitoring vegetation and wildlife, and revegetating sensitive habitat.
