4. UK Aid Match
• Competitive fund with a public say in how some of the aid
budget is spent by matching public donations to charity
appeals
• Open to any UK based NGO for work to reduce poverty in
developing countries by contributing to the MDGs
• Appeals must raise £100,000+ and provide 400,000+
opportunities for public to see the appeal
• Round 4 deadline: 13 March 2015
5. UK Aid Direct
• New commitment to small and medium sized civil society
organisations worth £150 million over 5 years
• First funding round launched in October – finish the job on
Health MDGs
• Will award ‘Impact’ and ‘Community Partnership’ grants
• 10% to be allocated to small organisations
• Flexible design means future funding rounds will be
determined on an annual basis
6. Common Ground Initiative (CGI) and Small UK
NGO Fund
• Comic Relief run programme providing grants, training and
support to diaspora led and small organisations in the UK
• Second phase started in 2014
• Both small and diaspora organisations can apply for funding
through Comic Relief’s grant-making procedure
• Open to all UK registered charities and Civil Society
