Nuclear power
The advantages •It produces electricity without pollution into the atmosphere. •They can be sited almost anywhere unlike oil which is mostly imported. •A small amount of matter creates a large amount of energy... • have many of the benefits of Uranium reactors while removing much of the risk for proliferation
The disadvantages •More expensive to build the plant. •Proliferation concerns. Breeder reactors yield products that could potentially be stolen and turned into an atomic weapon. •Waste products dangerous and need to be carefully stored for long time. •Nuclear power plants can be dangerous to its surroundings and employees. •It would cost a lot to clean in case of spillages
Production Naturally: Some nuclear energy is produced naturally. For example, the Sun and other stars make heat and light by nuclear reactions. Man-Made: Man-made nuclear reactions also occur in the explosion of atomic and hydrogen bombs. Nuclear energy is produced in two different ways, in one, large nuclei are split to release energy. In the other method, small nuclei are combined to release energy.
Should the UAE develop nuclear power? Importance that the development of peaceful atomic energy programs in a responsible manner and to comply with measures of comprehensive safeguards and cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency to enable it to conduct full verification and States developed for nuclear energy programs to take the necessary steps to enhance trust and address any concerns raised by the international community about the peaceful nuclear programs.
